Technician is responsible for the independent operation of sonographic equipment, and for performing and communicating results of diagnostic examinations using sonography. Responsible for the assessment and management of breastfeeding mothers and babies, particularly, those with problems or concerns. Exercises independent judgment in the assessment, diagnosis, and initiation of nursing processes and procedures concerning lactation patient and her infant. Supports training and support of new associates on breastfeeding techniques and standards of care; serves as a subject matter expert to the units in their facility. Will need to demonstrate a developing knowledge and skills relevant to lactation and adult learning principles. Basic knowledge of Adult Learning Principles needed to plan, implement and present/facilitate education for clients and/or hospital staff. Experience demonstrating the competent assessment, treatment, and care of all ages, including, neonates.

Job Duties

• Assigned a territory to cover phlebotomist duties within a Patient Service Center, doctor's office, or as business needs dictate
• Draw quality blood samples from patients and prepares those specimens for lab testing
• Collect specimens according to established procedures. This includes, but not limited to: drug screens, biometric screening and insurance exams
• Enter billing information and collect payment when required
• Will be required to coach, mentor, instruct, and be a resource advisor for new employees, as well as be the point of contact to staff on site and provide regular input to the group lead or supervisor

Qualifications

Required Education

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Medical training: medical assistant or paramedic training preferred.

Physical Requirements

• Ongoing need for employee to see and read information, labels, assess patient needs, operate monitors, identify equipment and supplies.
• Frequent interactions with patient care providers, patients, and visitors that require employee to verbally communicate as well as hear and understand spoken information, alarms, needs, and issues quickly and accurately, particularly during emergency situations.
• Manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy. This includes frequent computer use and typing for documenting patient care, accessing needed information, medication preparation, etc.
• Expected to lift and utilize full range of movement to transfer patients. Will also bend to retrieve, lift, and carry supplies and equipment. Typically includes items of varying weights, up to and including heavy items.

This includes pushing/pulling gurneys and portable equipment, including heavy items. Often required to navigate crowded and busy rooms (full of equipment, power cords on the floor, etc.)

As the Registered Nurse in Home Health you will provide and direct provisions of nursing care to patients in their homes as prescribed by the physician and in compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and agency policies. You will also coordinate total plan of care with other health care professionals involved in care and helps to achieve and maintain continuity of patient care by planning and exchanging information with physician, agency personnel, patient, family, and community resources.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Takes direction from Clinical Director and Executive Director professionally and completes assigned tasks timely, including required learning
  • Assists in the orientation of new agency personnel and serves as a preceptor to other staff and students
  • Actively participates in survey/survey readiness activities and performance improvement plans, works to reduce unnecessary patient hospitalizations, improve patient safety, and implements processes and best practices to ensure positive patient outcomes
  • Participates in on-call and weekend rotation as needed to meet patient needs
