Hospice Community Liaison in Training
TOUCHSTONE HEALTH
San Antonio, TX

Job Description

Job Description
Description:

About the Role

Behind every patient who finds the right care at the right time, there is a relationship that made it possible. That is what a Liaison builds: real, lasting relationships with doctors, hospitals, and care facilities that refer patients to Touchstone Hospice. These relationships are earned over time through trust, consistency, and follow-through, so that when someone needs care, Touchstone is the first name that comes to mind. It is sales work, but it is also deeply human. Liaisons often speak with people navigating major health transitions, and doing that well takes emotional intelligence, confidence, and drive. It is also work that pays: full-time Liaisons can earn up to six figures through base pay plus performance incentives.

The Liaison in Training program is how you get there. This paid, three-month training track is designed to develop Touchstone's next generation of Liaisons from the ground up, with no healthcare background required. You will learn sales fundamentals, referral development, and healthcare relationship-building through direct mentorship from experienced Liaisons on our marketing team. From week one, you will gain real, hands-on field experience. This is more than a job. It is a career-building credential. Our training model is designed to become the community standard for how healthcare liaisons are developed, so what you learn here can carry weight wherever your career goes next. At the end of the three months, you will be evaluated on your readiness for full Liaison responsibilities to determine fit for a full-time role.

Key Responsibilities

? Complete a hands-on, three-month training curriculum covering sales fundamentals, referral development, and the industry knowledge you need, with no prior healthcare experience required

? Shadow experienced Liaisons in the field and observe real referral visits with physicians, hospitals, and care facilities across San Antonio

? Build core referral development skills, including relationship-building, follow-up discipline, and territory management, under direct mentorship

? Start building your own supervised relationships with referral sources as you progress through the program

? Learn to communicate with empathy and clarity, especially with families navigating a difficult health transition

? Study the competitive landscape and learn to represent Touchstone's mission and services with confidence

? Track your own growth through learning milestones and regular competency checkpoints

? Represent Touchstone's mission and brand professionally throughout San Antonio's care community

Requirements:

What We're Looking For

? A natural comfort striking up conversations with people you've just met

? Resilience — you don't let a "no" slow you down for long

? Real empathy and emotional intelligence, especially in hard conversations

? A coachable mindset — you take feedback and put it to work fast

? Self-motivation and follow-through, without needing someone looking over your shoulder

? A valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and willingness to travel locally

? A high school diploma required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred, in any field

Why Join Us

At Touchstone, we specialize in something few others do well: helping patients make the transition from a skilled nursing facility back home, safely and with the right care in place. This program is our investment in the next generation of people who help make that transition possible for San Antonio families. You'll get paid to learn a new career, with real mentorship every step of the way and a growth path that doesn't stop at three months, backed by the resources of the broader CareM network. We offer medical, dental, and vision coverage, PTO, a 401(k), mileage reimbursement, flexible scheduling, and supportive leadership from day one. If you're driven, coachable, and ready to build a career around helping people through some of life's hardest moments, we'd be honored to help you bring out the courage in others.

Member of Technical Staff - Protocol & Security Engineer
Vinci4d
Palo alto
About Vinci

Every physical thing you touch exists because somebody successfully navigated the laws of physics: the chips in your phone, the vehicles on the road, the data centers powering AI. Physics determines what can be built, how well it performs, and where it breaks. Yet the tools engineers use to understand physical behavior are too slow and too specialized to use continuously while designing, so critical decisions get made with only a partial view of how a system will behave.

Vinci is building a Foundation Model for Physics. Our mission is to make physical reasoning as accessible to engineers as language became through modern AI. This is not an attempt to build slightly better engineering software. It is an attempt to change how physical products are designed. Our technology is used today by many of the world's most advanced semiconductor and electronics organizations, including nearly half of the twenty largest companies in the industry. We are backed by Khosla Ventures and Eclipse Ventures.

The role

Simulating complex physical systems increasingly means coordinating computation across multiple systems. We are hiring the engineer who will design and own the protocol that makes that coordination possible: the wire format, the identity model, and the trust model.

This is a broad challenge that touches everything from how our solutions work to how to maintain security compliance. Coordinating computation across systems that by design may not fully trust each other is not access control with extra steps. The protocol has to be something a security audit can evaluate and approve, which means the guarantees have to be real and they have to be explainable. You will work on this alongside the physicists and numerical engineers who built our solvers, and the full stack engineers who build the applications..

What you'll do

  • Design the protocol for cross-system communication: schema, versioning, and negotiation, built so future capabilities extend it rather than break it

  • Own the secure transport and service identity layer, including certificate, key, and credential design

  • Define the trust model: what each participant discloses, what it can infer, and how that is documented for a customer's security review

  • Threat-model the protocol itself, not only its transport, including replay, resource exhaustion, and inference across repeated interactions

  • Partner with our solver, orchestration, and product engineers so that security constraints shape architecture early rather than arriving as review comments

  • Represent our security posture to customers and manage external penetration testing

What we're looking for

  • Experience designing and shipping network protocols or service-to-service APIs that outlived their first version, with concrete opinions on schema evolution and backward compatibility

  • Depth in applied transport and authentication security: TLS and mTLS in practice, certificate and key handling, service identity, credential design

  • Experience with authorization models that had to evolve as requirements grew

  • Comfort reasoning about what a system reveals, not only what it permits

  • Clear written communication: much of this role's output is documentation that other engineers and customers rely on

Nice to have

  • gRPC and Protocol Buffers at scale

  • Multi-tenant or cross-organizational systems where the tenants do not trust each other

  • Privacy engineering, secure multiparty computation, or confidential computing

  • Simulation, CAD, EDA, robotics, or another domain with large geometric or numerical payloads

Is this you?

This is a back end engineering role with security at its center, not an infrastructure or compliance security role. If your career has mostly been securing and auditing systems other people designed, this is probably not the right fit. If you have designed services that had to be secure by design, it likely is.

About Zipline

Zipline is the world’s largest and most experienced drone delivery service. We are on a mission to serve all humans equally by ensuring access to food, medicine and essential goods anytime, anywhere. We design, build, and operate the world’s largest autonomous logistics system, delivering critical supplies quickly and reliably. Today, Zipline operates on four continents, makes a delivery somewhere in the world every 30 seconds, and has completed millions of deliveries to date, including blood, vaccines, medical supplies, food, and retail products.

Our customers include the world’s largest and most prominent healthcare systems, governments, retailers, restaurants and global businesses who rely on us to save lives, reduce emissions, increase economic opportunity, and provide delivery from point A to point B as fast as possible. The drone is only 15% of what we’ve built to enable seamless, reliable, global operations.

Our system strengthens supply chains, reduces congestion, and gives people time back. With more than 140 million commercial autonomous miles safely flown, Zipline is redefining access to healthcare, consumer products, and food across the globe.

We operate at a global scale and are looking for practical problem solvers who thrive on real-world challenges and rapid growth. Our team is motivated by building systems that have a direct, meaningful impact on people’s lives and by scaling the future of logistics. We are seeking people who sculpt from first principles, enjoy facing adversity, and can do the impossible at record breaking speeds.

About You and The Role

System Test is a ultra-fast-pace team responsible for pathfinding new hardware and delivering on environmental and durability campaigns for zipline’s major hardware categories. The direct team is small and lightweight, and interacts with most departments at Zipline. You will be a technical leader in the small, special-ops team of test engineers and technicians across environmental, durability, and replicated-flight testing. You will own the system-test roadmap for reliability validation and rapid fault finding, and develop hardware and software to replicate in-flight stresses and to monitor the vehicle. The algorithms used for failure-detection can also be deployed to the fleet for fleet-wide monitoring.

This team, and the fast discovery of hardware faults, is core to the success of Zipline and the velocity of hardware development and deployment.

What You'll Do

  • Develop novel ways of replicating in-flight environments on the ground, including external factors (dust, ingress, icing), and internal vehicle stresses.

  • Deeply understand the vehicle DFMEA and own the vehicle actuation during system test.

  • Translate mission profiles into qualification and life-test plans, including accelerated test design, stress levels, and sample size justification. Stay ahead of aircraft profiles and load curves, to help unlock new capability.

  • Develop health monitoring and anomaly detection software (Python, Rust) for aircraft and robotic systems, with emphasis on using the vehicle’s on-board telemetry.

  • Drive the ‘rapid failure finding’ branch of the system test campaigns, a core input to design cycles and achieving maintenance goals.

  • Build data pipelines and automated analysis tooling to adapt flight-software validators for system tests.

  • Drive or develop directly the features needed in flight code to enable ‘Test Mode’ functionality.

  • Integrate off-board sensors (cameras, airspeed sensors, other instrumentation) for continuous monitoring of vehicle health and tester health during long-duration tests.

  • Conduct characterization of test assets, including developing analytical models and running instrumented test campaigns, to correlate test conditions to flight.

  • Drive decisions about test strategy overall: what new features are needed in system test, what should be tested at the system-level vs. component level vs. flight test. How to bring more coverage into system tests, and ways of rapid failure-finding.

  • Collaborate with the Reliability team to hone the strategy of long-duration vs. multiple vehicles being tested, as a function of the part-to-part variability and overall CapEx strategy.

What You'll Bring

  • Demonstrated experience leading test engineers, equipment designers, and technicians for complex hardware programs.

  • Experience planning and running environmental, durability, and reliability test campaigns that inform engineering decisions.

  • Experience in reliability techniques including MTBF, Weibull analyses, and DFMEAs.

  • Strong electromechanical skills in embedded controls, real-time compute, and actuation.

  • Software proficiency (Python, Rust, C/C++)

  • Electrical engineering fundamentals including battery systems, communications protocols, and RF systems.

  • Strong hardware-debugging intuition and electrical troubleshooting skills for aircraft or similarly complex electromechanical systems.- Sound judgment to prioritize test capability, campaign scope, and fault investigations across multiple hardware programs.

  • Excellent ability to ‘get unstuck’ and make progress in a complex and changing environment.

  • Experience developing real-time controls in safety critical applications.

What Else You Need To Know

Zipline is an equal opportunity employer and prohibits discrimination and harassment of any type without regard to race, color, religion, age, sex, national origin, disability status, genetics, protected veteran status, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, or any other characteristic protected by federal, state or local laws or our own sensibilities.

We value diversity at Zipline and welcome applications from those who are traditionally underrepresented in tech. If you like the sound of this position but are not sure if you are the perfect fit,

Voluntary Self-Identification

For government reporting purposes, we ask candidates to respond to the below self-identification survey. Completion of the form is entirely voluntary. Whatever your decision, it will not be considered in the hiring process or thereafter. Any information that you do provide will be recorded and maintained in a confidential file.
