The technologist will explain the procedure and the function of the equipment to the patient as well as answer any questions the patient may have, will intently review the medical history, to include medication lists and lab results, if performed, prior to starting procedure, check patient record for previous pertinent information or procedures, contact radiologist when direction is needed, document appropriate information in the patient record/PACS system.
  7. Performs requested CT exams of appropriate regions in accordance with accepted standards of practice and protocols of the organization and the reading radiologist. Observes patient during procedure, reports unusual occurrences and records patients' condition when necessary.
  8. Lifts, moves, and transports patients via wheelchair or cart when necessary.
  9. Maintain knowledge on the composition, storage, and administration of contrast media agents according to department protocols under guidance and approval of a physician.
  10. Transfers, maintains basic quality assurance issues and recalls images from PACS system.
