Summary

Responsible for the safe delivery and documentation of the hemodialysis or peritoneal dialysis treatment provided. Patient care occurs through the nursing process of assessment, diagnosing, planning, implementation, and evaluation. Performs responsibilities in five areas of nursing practice utilizing critical thinking, management, problem solving and differentiation of urgency in the role of: clinician, teacher, researcher, leadership and professional development. The 24/7 Cancer Care Clinic features an outpatient treatment area for patients to come in for scheduled appointments to receive chemotherapy, blood products, IV hydration, central line and port care, phlebotomy, etc. The scheduled infusion space is staffed with staff nurses and patient care technicians. There are also Nurse Practitioners in the Cancer Care Clinic who see patients in a patient care room setting within the clinic for symptom management concerns. This allow Oncology patients from the Siteman Cancer Center to receive care for some urgent needs. These patients are managed by the Nurse Practitioners and cared for the the staff nurses and PCTs. Additionally, when patients need to be admitted to the hospital, the Cancer Care Clinic begins the care for some of these patients who meet specific criteria.

Provides direct patient care activities including assessment, diagnosis, planning implementation, and evaluation within the guidelines of the standards of nursing care.

Responsibilities

  • Promotes patient and family centered care in a healing environment. Educates patients and their families on how to manage their illness or injury, including post treatment home care needs and medication administration.
  • Participates in activities that promote patient safety, quality and regulatory compliance. Participates in professional development.
  • Develops, implements, and documents individual plans of care with defined goals in collaboration with other members of the interprofessional team and patient, family or caregiver in accordance with the established guidelines and standards of nursing care. Proactively plans and ensures communication of the plan of care across the continuum of care.
  • Uses critical nursing skills to assess and evaluate physical, psychosocial, and emotional needs according to standards of care. Assess patient preferences and barriers to involvement in care, including their values, emotional, spiritual, cultural, and population-specific needs.

    Registered Nurse (RN) – Endoscopy

    Seaford, Delaware

    Overview

    Seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to join its Endoscopy team in Seaford, Delaware. In this procedural nursing role, you will provide comprehensive patient care before, during, and after endoscopic procedures while working alongside physicians and an experienced multidisciplinary team. This position offers a consistent weekday schedule with the opportunity to build expertise in a specialized procedural setting.

    Shift

    • Full-Time
    • Monday – Friday
    • 8-hour day shifts
    • Approximately 8 holidays per year
    • Rotating on-call for nights, weekends, and holidays
    • Occasional extended hours to complete procedures

    Responsibilities

    • Provide nursing care before, during, and after endoscopic procedures.
    • Prepare, assess, educate, and recover patients undergoing GI procedures.
    • Assist physicians with diagnostic, therapeutic, and emergency endoscopy procedures.
    • Support procedures including upper endoscopy, colonoscopy, EUS, ERCP, bronchoscopy, EBUS, rigid bronchoscopy, pleuroscopy, and pleurodesis.
    • Assist with advanced procedures including esophageal motility, manometry, capsule endoscopy, and PEG placement.
    • Monitor patient condition throughout procedures and recovery while ensuring safe, high-quality care.
    • Collaborate with physicians and the interdisciplinary team to provide exceptional patient outcomes.
    • Maintain accurate documentation and adhere to established clinical protocols.

    Requirements

    • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license.
    • Current licensure in the state of permanent residence.
    • Minimum one year of acute care nursing experience required.
    • Previous critical care or conscious sedation experience required.
    • Endoscopy experience preferred.
    • BLS certification required.
    • ACLS certification required within six months of employment.
    • Certified Gastroenterology Registered Nurse (CGRN) preferred within two years.
    • Strong assessment, communication, and teamwork skills.
