Senior Security Engineer, Data Infrastructure
Grow Therapy
seattle, wa
Compensation: 152.000 - 250.000

Grow Therapy is on a mission to serve as the trusted partner for therapists growing their practice, and patients accessing high-quality care. Powered by technology, we are a three-sided marketplace that empowers providers, augments insurance payors, and serves patients. Following the mass increase in depression and anxiety, the need for accessibility is more important than ever. To make our vision for mental healthcare a reality, we’re building a team of entrepreneurs and mission-driven go-getters. Since launching in February 2021, we’ve empowered more than ten thousand therapists and hundreds of thousands of clients across the country and insurance landscape. We’ve raised more than $328M in funding, including our Series D, at a $3B valuation from Sequoia Capital, Transformation Capital, TCV, SignalFire, Menlo Ventures, Goldman Sachs Alternatives, and others.

The Opportunity

We're looking for a Senior Security Engineer to own the data security infrastructure at Grow Therapy, the systems that determine how sensitive data is classified, protected, and safely governed across the company. Our customers trust us with some of the most sensitive data there is, and it's our responsibility to honor that trust by treating it with the highest standards of security. You'll be the hands‑on technical owner of the infrastructure that makes that possible and the person who makes protecting that data the easy, default path for the rest of the company. Reporting into the Head of Security and partnering closely with Data, Engineering, and our Detection & Response team, this is a role that requires both building and strategizing: you'll ship the pipelines and services yourself and define what great data security looks like a year out, then make it real. Security sits within Grow's Internal Foundations pillar — the team building company-wide infrastructure to support safe AI adoptio, so you'll be architecting the data‑protection foundation that every other team, and every AI tool, builds on top of.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Define what data security looks like a year from now — then build it. Own a clear, opinionated vision for Grow's data security infrastructure: where the biggest risks are, what “secure by default” means for sensitive data, and the roadmap to get there.
  • Make data classification executable. Build the automated classification and tagging pipelines that scan our production data models, infer sensitivity, and propagate those tags through data lineage — aligning with our Data Classification Policy so that every downstream system can act on classification automatically rather than guess.
  • Control how data is used internally. Build field‑level dynamic masking, tokenization, and redaction — driven by classification tags — so that sensitive data is exposed only when there's a genuine need, and access is scoped, justified, and logged. Make masked‑by‑default the path of least resistance for the tools teams build on top of our data.
  • Secure the data path into AI tooling. We’re an AI forward organization. You'll own the security of the data connectors and pipelines feeding AI tools — including authentication, authorization, observability. Your role will be to ensure Grow can take advantage of new AI technologies safely and appropriately.
  • Build fast, safe, and scalable encryption pipelines. Design and ship the encryption infrastructure that protects our most sensitive data end to end — application‑layer and field‑level encryption, envelope encryption, key management — engineered to be fast and scalable enough that teams reach for it by default rather than around it.

You’ll Be a Good Fit If

  • You’re a hands‑on data infrastructure engineer. You're comfortable writing production code, designing data pipelines and services, and doing system design reviews, and you've built security or data infrastructure that real teams depend on.
  • You’ve worked deep in the data‑security stack. You've built meaningfully across some combination of data classification, masking/tokenization, encryption and key management, and secure data access, and you can connect into a coherent system.
  • You can set direction and then execute on it. You're energized by a blank canvas: you can define what success looks like a year out, prioritize ruthlessly toward it, and inspire partner teams to support you in this goal.
  • You think in terms of risk reduction, not checkboxes. You instinctively reach for the highest‑leverage control on the largest surface, and you'd rather make the secure path the default.
  • You’re a clear, compelling communicator. You can explain data‑security tradeoffs and risk to non‑technical audiences — including executives and clinical stakeholders — with precision, empathy, and confidence.

Employment Type

Full Time, Exempt

Base Compensation

  • Hybrid Commitment: $182,000 - $250,000 USD Annually
  • Fully Remote Commitment: $152,000–$208,000 USD Annually

This role can be hybrid (onsite from our NYC, San Francisco, or Seattle hub location three days per week: Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday) or fully remote. Both arrangements include travel 2–3 times per year (e.g., company and department offsites).

Full Time Employee Benefits

  • Comprehensive Health Coverage: Medical, dental, and vision insurance, plus life and disability coverage.
  • Parental Leave & Family Support: Up to 18 weeks paid leave and a new child stipend.
  • Financial Wellness: 401(k) program and equity opportunities.
  • Meals & Home Office Support: Stipends for home office setup and ongoing funds for meals, with tailored perks for both remote and in‑office employees.
  • Time Off to Recharge: Flexible PTO, 12 paid holidays, and a full winter break week.
  • Wellness & Development: Annual stipends to put towards personal & professional growth.
  • Mental & Physical Health Support: No-cost access to therapy through the Grow platform, weekly flexible hours for self‑care (“Mental Health Mornings/Afternoons”) and memberships to leading wellness apps (such as One Medical, Headspace, and Talkspace).
  • Extra Perks: Pet insurance discounts, commuter benefits, and global travel assistance.

Research shows that some groups hesitate to apply unless they meet every qualification. If you’re excited about this role but don’t check every box, we encourage you to apply. At Grow, we value diverse experiences, transferable skills, and the unique strengths each person brings.

Grow Therapy is proud to be an equal opportunity workplace and is an affirmative action employer. We are committed to equal employment opportunity regardless of race, color, ancestry, religion, sex, national origin, sexual orientation, age, citizenship, marital status, disability, gender identity or Veteran status. Senior Software Engineer, HUB
Weekend
san francisco, ca
Compensation: 120.000 - 160.000

Role Summary

The Hub team owns Weekend's bundled gaming experience, the first thing users see across all TV platforms. We build and maintain the features that shape how players discover, adopt, and stick with our games, from the core product experience to growth experiments that move business metrics.

This is a front-end-leaning full-stack role. You'll spend most of your time building user-facing features in TypeScript and React, working closely with Product and Design to shape what gets built and how. You'll also own backend work where it connects to what users experience, but the center of gravity here is the interface, not the infrastructure. It\'s a high-impact position for engineers who care about how users feel, not just how systems scale, and who thrive at the intersection of engineering, product, and data.

This job opportunity offers a hybrid work arrangement, and we are specifically seeking candidates who are comfortable with on-site attendance in our Bay Area office 3 times per week and are either currently residing in or near the Bay Area or willing to relocate for on-site work.

What You\'ll Do at Weekend

  • Partner closely with Product to refine requirements, write technical specs, and deliver features from concept to launch.
  • Collaborate with Design to create delightful, intuitive experiences for users across TV, mobile, and web platforms.
  • Own features end-to-end, including the backend services they depend on, with a primary focus on the user-facing layer.
  • Use data to validate what you ship, measure impact, and inform what to build next
  • Proactively identify risks, surface blockers early, and shape engineering decisions with your team.
  • Contribute to code reviews and maintain a high standard of code quality, architecture, and performance.

We\'re Excited About You Because You Have

  • You have 6+ years of software engineering experience, with meaningful time spent on user-facing products.
  • You have strong TypeScript and React skills and have shipped production-grade frontend work you\'re proud of.
  • You\'ve worked directly with Product and Design partners, not just received specs to implement.
  • You\'ve owned features end-to-end, from scoping and tradeoffs through launch and iteration.
  • You make data-informed decisions and know how to instrument and measure what you ship.
  • You\'re comfortable with backend systems where they connect to what users experience.
  • You operate well in ambiguous environments and don\'t need a fully-defined problem to start making progress.

Bonus Points

  • Experience with analytics and experimentation platforms (Amplitude, Segment, Statsig, LaunchDarkly).
  • Familiarity with conversion funnels, user journeys, and subscription business models.
  • Background in gaming, entertainment, or other high-engagement consumer products.
  • Experience working in or transitioning from game engine environments (Unity, C++, Unreal); we care about your instincts, not your current stack.
  • Familiarity with attribution and marketing tools (AppsFlyer, Branch, or similar).

Our Stack

The Hiring Process

  • Stage 1 (Preliminary Video Call): with a member of our recruitment team.
  • Stage 2 (Engineering Panel): with various members of our engineering team.
  • Stage 3 (Onsite Interview): with various partners and team members.
  • Stage 4 (Founder Chat) with our Founders.

As an AI company, we\'re a huge believer in the value of AI tools. That being said, the interview process is intended as a conversation - we want to get to know you and your experience. Please refrain from using AI tools during all Weekend interviews unless otherwise specified.

What\'s in it for You

  • Your medical, dental, and vision insurance is 100% covered by Weekend, for yourself and all dependents and we match 401k!
  • We offer a flexible, hybrid work-from-home and in-office work model.
  • We offer unlimited paid time off (enforced 2-week minimum), 16 paid holidays, 40 hours of bereavement leave, and unlimited sick days.
  • Our generous parental leave policy includes 24 weeks at 100% pay for birthing parents and 12 weeks at 100% pay for non-birthing parents.
  • We offer visa support for eligible candidates, making relocating for the job smoother and more streamlined.
  • A full breakdown of our benefits is here!

For Pay Transparency: The final offer amount may depend on experience, education, skills, and location. Base pay is one part of the total package that is provided to compensate and recognize employees for their work.
