The position offers a balanced blend of operative first assisting, ICU management, and perioperative patient care within a high-volume cardiac program.
The ideal candidate is comfortable working in a collaborative environment alongside cardiothoracic surgeons and is committed to delivering exceptional patient outcomes across a continuum of care.
Qualified Candidates/Details:
  • Graduated from an accredited physician assistant or nurse practitioner program
  • Have a South Carolina license or the ability to get a South Carolina license prior to starting
  • 2 or more years experience in first-assist for adult cardiothoracic surgical procedures (CABG, valves, aortic surgery) or other complex surgical procedures
  • Endoscopic saphenous vein harvest (EVH) preferred (willing to train)
  • Participate in urgent and emergent operative cases
Intensive Care Unit & Inpatient Management
  • Daily management of postoperative cardiac and thoracic surgery patients
  • Hemodynamic assessment and management
  • Coordination of multidisciplinary teams
  • Discharge planning and transition of care
