Value-based Primary Care Physician (MD/DO) - Job Description

Employment Type: Full Time, Exempt (30-40 hours per week)

Schedule: Our clinics are open Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. We have 10-hour and 8-hour shifts available.

Location: Miami / Fort Lauderdale, Florida (anticipated on-site)

Compensation: Competitive base salary, quarterly quality bonus eligibility, paid time off, and CME support

About Us

At Herself Health, we're on a mission to help women get more life out of life, together. We are reimagining primary care for women 50+ by creating the time, trust, and clinical focus needed to address the realities of aging - including menopause and post-menopausal health, bone health, cardiometabolic health, weight management, preventive care, and mental, emotional, and social well-being.

Our values shape how we care for patients and how we work with one another. We put Her First in every decision, stay Curious and Always Learning, Own It and Act when something can be better, and believe we are Together, Unstoppable when we collaborate with purpose. Herself Health currently serves patients across five clinics in the Twin Cities, and we are exploring how our relationship-centered model could support women in new communities.

About This Future Opportunity

Herself Health is exploring a potential future expansion into the Greater Miami and Fort Lauderdale region across Miami-Dade and Broward Counties. This is an exploratory talent posting, not an active opening. A clinic location, opening timeline, compensation range, and hiring dates have not yet been established. By sharing your interest, you can help us better understand the local provider community and be among the first considered if plans move forward.

Our search includes physicians living in or interested in communities such as Miami, Hialeah, Doral, Fort Lauderdale, Pembroke Pines, Coral Springs, and surrounding areas. The eventual practice location, if approved, would be within Miami-Dade or Broward County.

About You

You are a thoughtful, collaborative physician who wants to practice medicine in a way that puts patients first. You bring strong clinical judgment, listen with empathy, and are energized by the opportunity to improve how care is delivered. You are comfortable learning, using data to guide decisions, taking ownership, and partnering across an interdisciplinary team. You may also be excited by the opportunity to help shape a growing clinical model and, potentially, a new local practice from the ground up.

The Primary Care Physician's Role

The Primary Care Physician (MD/DO) is a key member of our interdisciplinary care team, providing comprehensive, longitudinal care for women with complex and evolving health needs. You will evaluate acute concerns and chronic conditions, manage medications, address mental and social-emotional needs, and educate patients in a thorough, practical, and compassionate way.

Direct patient care is the heart of this role. Our physicians also contribute to clinical quality, population health, and the continued development of Herself Health's care model. Working within a value-based care environment, you will help improve patient outcomes and experience, support accurate documentation and coding, and advance quality measures, including HEDIS performance.

Core Qualifications

  • MD or DO degree with board certification or eligibility through a recognized board such as ABFM or ABIM.
  • Eligibility and willingness to obtain an active, unrestricted Florida medical license, DEA registration, NPI number, and required payer credentials.
  • Three or more years of experience providing longitudinal primary care and managing complex conditions such as diabetes, cardiovascular disease, thyroid disease, osteoporosis, menopause and post-menopausal health needs, and weight management.
  • Experience creating individualized care plans and educating patients about health maintenance, disease prevention, and treatment options.
  • Experience caring for older adults, including medication review, polypharmacy management, and appropriate medication reduction.
  • Comfort providing physical examinations and age-appropriate gynecological or well-woman care within scope of practice.
  • Strong clinical judgment, problem-solving skills, adaptability, and patient-centered communication.
  • Interest in or willingness to learn value-based care, including the relationship between quality, outcomes, patient experience, and cost.
  • Alignment with Herself Health's mission and commitment to high-quality, inclusive care.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with geriatric medicine, women's health, Medicare populations, or value-based care.
  • Experience performing office-based procedures within scope of practice.
  • Experience working in a start-up, growth-stage organization, or new clinic environment.
  • Comfort using Athenahealth or another modern electronic health record and Microsoft tools.
  • Experience mentoring, precepting, or supporting the development of other clinicians.

Other Qualifications

  • Maintenance of required board certification and continuing medical education.
  • Successful completion of pre-employment screening and all required credentialing.
  • Eligibility for enrollment with Medicare and applicable commercial payers.
  • Authorization to work in the United States.
  • Ability to meet applicable occupational health and vaccination requirements for direct patient care roles.

Equal Employment Opportunity

  • Life sciences, biotechnology, pharmaceutical, or healthcare industry experience
