Practice Overview

  • You'll join an employed cardiology group with dedicated EP coverage and strong internal referrals across multiple regional clinics
  • Team support includes general and interventional cardiologists, EP-focused APP support, and an inpatient cardiologist who triages admissions
  • Procedures include advanced ablations, device implants (PPM/ICD/CRT/Sub-Q/leadless), LAAO collaboration, and complex lead extraction support with CT surgery and hybrid OR access
  • Tools/resources include Carto mapping, dedicated anesthesia block time, nurse-led conscious sedation, EPIC/Cupid, and rhythm techs for in-person/remote device monitoring

Schedule

  • Alternating weekly rotation: 1 week hospital-based procedures (planned cases + inpatient add-ons) followed by 1 week full-time clinic
  • Phone-heavy call with post-call relief built in after any night/weekend coverage
  • Weeknight general call: 20-21 nights/year; Friday night call: 4-5 nights/year (phone only)
  • Weekend rounding/call: 3-4 weekends/year (Saturday & Sunday)

Compensation & Benefits

  • Base salary guarantee: $800,000 floor, plus $65 per wRVU (threshold applies)
  • $30,000 sign-on bonus (also used to cover relocation; split payout tied to signing and start)
  • Malpractice coverage provided, plus health/dental/vision/life insurance and retirement plans
  • $5,000 CME allowance + 5 CME days/year, PTO under standard employed physician benefits, and PSLF eligibility

This is a rare opportunity to help build a de novo transplant program within a major regional cardiovascular platform. The selected physician will help establish transplant capability at St. David's Medical Center while strengthening the broader continuum of care across chronic heart failure, cardiogenic shock, temporary and durable mechanical circulatory support, LVAD, ECMO, and post-transplant management. Qualified Candidates
  • The ideal candidate is more than an excellent clinician. This role requires a builder: a credible transplant cardiologist with the judgment, emotional intelligence, operating discipline, and peer influence to create a program under real-world startup conditions.
  • The strongest candidates will be comfortable standardizing care, developing referral confidence, mentoring teams, managing ambiguity, and establishing a culture of accountability from the first patient s evaluation forward.
  • Board certified or board eligible in Advanced Heart Failure and Transplant Cardiology.
  • Fellowship training in Advanced Heart Failure and Transplant Cardiology required.
  • Meaningful experience in heart transplantation, LVAD, temporary mechanical circulatory support, cardiogenic shock, and advanced heart failure program development.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead through influence, build multidisciplinary trust, and align independent stakeholders in complex clinical environments.
  • Experience launching, scaling, revitalizing, or materially improving transplant, LVAD, cardiogenic shock, or advanced heart failure programs preferred.
  • Clinical research, quality improvement, registry, device, or industry-partnership experience preferred, but not required.
  • Texas medical license or ability to obtain.

  • We provide this service one Saturday per month, ensuring there is no conflict with your current professional schedule. Each clinic day typically runs from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm, depending on the number of scheduled evaluations.
PERTINENT INFORMATION
  • As the provider, you will provide disability examinations and evaluations that primarily test the claimant s function and range of motion.
  • Conduct basic physical evaluations using a structured, easy to follow template
  • Perform assessments solely for the purpose of assisting the State of Florida in determining eligibility for government programs
  • Document findings clearly and professionally
  • Not establish a doctor patient relationship
  • Not provide diagnosis, treatment, or medical advice
  • Not determine whether a claimant qualifies for benefits
  • We schedule each clinic about 6-8 weeks in advance and can work around your current professional schedule. Payment is issued immediately upon completion of the charts, so there is no waiting for billing.
  • We will pay $60 per patient seen for the conducting of these physicals. That comes out to be about $100-$120 an hour. On average you can expect to conduct about 14-16 physicals during the 1 day/month clinic.
