Assistant Manager Parking Services
The mission of this position is to help Church members fulfill their divinely appointed responsibility to discover their families through family history methods, submit their names to the temple for saving ordinances, and to help bring souls unto CHRIST.
This role provides technical and administrative direction to employees. Oversees the day-to-day operations of a group of employees. Responsible for the training and development of subordinate staff, estimating work level needs, assigning work, meeting completion dates, interpreting and ensuring consistent application of organizational polices. Generally the subordinate group performs a single task or multiple, but closely related tasks. Duties are sometimes non-routine. Resolves most questions and problems, and refers the most complex issues to higher levels.
Shift Information:
Location: Church Office Building, Salt Lake City, UT
Shift Hours Monday to Friday 7:00 AM 4:00 PM Must be willing to work rotating weekends, events, and holidays as scheduled.
A valid Driver's License is required for this position.
Compensation: $70k-$80k annually depending on experience and education.
Responsibilities
Assist with managing the daily and event parking operations of all assigned facilities efficiently, with a strong emphasis on safety and security.
Assist in managing a team of approximately 20 employees, including hiring, scheduling, training, coaching, and performance management.
Provide recommendations regarding hiring, termination, advancement, promotion, and other employment-status changes for supervised employees.
Regularly evaluate employee performance and ensure compliance with established policies, procedures, and service standards.
Motivate team members to consistently meet or exceed performance expectations.
Address performance concerns promptly, provide effective coaching, and secure employees' commitment to improvement.
Deliver exceptional customer service and train team members to handle routine and difficult customer interactions with patience, positivity, and professionalism.
Assist with Parking Office operations, including serving customers, answering phones, responding to emails, and providing coverage during breaks and annual or sick leave.
Fulfill parking requests in accordance with approved guidelines and procedures.
Work primarily on weekdays; schedules may also include evenings, weekends, holidays, Sundays, and mandatory events.
Complete all other duties, assignments, and projects requested by management in a timely manner and with a high level of quality.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Three to five years of related experience in parking services, parking management, business management, operations, or a related field.
Excellent oral, written, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
Demonstrated ability to establish priorities, organize work, and lead others effectively.
Advanced knowledge and skills applicable to the completion of moderately complex assignments.
Demonstrated ability to manage, coach, and develop employees while maintaining high standards of performance and customer service.
Ability to exercise sound judgment, make recommendations, and resolve routine and difficult operational or customer-service issues.
Demonstrated reliability, dependability, and commitment to punctual attendance, with the ability to consistently report to work and assigned shifts on time.
Knowledge of parking operations, safety, security, and customer-service practices.
Valid driver's license.
Ability to operate computers, parking equipment, and related software.
Ability to work assigned shifts, including occasional evenings, weekends, holidays, Sundays, and mandatory events.
