  • Coordinate the work processes of all production trades through trade supervisors to ensure that they perform their portion of the vessel repair project in a timely and safe manner.
  • Continuously review the manning requirements and work scope for the project, and make any necessary changes and revisions based on project completion time requirements.
  • Coordinate the documentation and distribution of condition reports generated by trade supervisors during the course of the repair project.
  • Supervise and direct the activities of all manpower for each project to ensure that work is accomplished to owner and regulatory body satisfaction, and within predetermined time constraints.
  • Confer with vessel owner/Port Engineer to address any changes encountered during project activities and determine how to reallocate manpower to accommodate modifications.
  • Inspect completed installations and observe operations for conformance to design and equipment specifications, and operational and safety standards.
  • Responsible for ensuring that all personnel adhere to safety rules and regulations.

High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required; college degree in a related Engineering discipline preferred; Maritime college degree and/or domestic or international maritime license preferred; along with a minimum of eight to ten years of related ship repair experience and training. Experience as a marine port engineer required; experience with the US Coast Guard is a plus. Bilingual Spanish is a plus. Strong verbal and written skills required, along with proficiency in the use of the Microsoft Office Suite including but not limited to Outlook, Excel, Word, and Microsoft Project.
