The Physical Therapist Assistant will primarily provide outpatient rehabilitation services in an in-home setting for the older adult population. The in-home setting could be a patient's private residence or in a patient's room in an independent living facility. Powerback Rehabilitation To You allows the Physical Therapy Assistant to evaluate and treat in the most functional environment which is the patient's home. The Physical Therapist Assistant provides physical therapy treatments to patients to facilitate increased independence and functioning under the supervision of a Licensed Physical Therapist. This position provides a flexible schedule and work environment in various settings.

1. Attends and contributes to patient care, staffing conferences and other required meetings as a representative of physical therapy, under the direction of the physical therapist.

2. Responsible for adherence to department and patient treatment schedule, timely clinical and billing documentation requirements as well as work related meetings.

3. Works with other members of the rehabilitation team to implement programs and activities consistent with the needs and capabilities of each patient.

4. Acts as an assistant to the Physical Therapist when the Physical Therapist is performing tests, evaluations, and complex procedures.

5. Instructs patients, families and other caregivers in the skills and techniques of the physical therapy treatment program under the supervision of the Physical Therapist.

6. Maintains appropriate and timely documentation for all patients treated.

7. Cleans, maintains, identifies, and reports the need for repair of equipment, as necessary.

8. Puts Patient Service First: Ensures that patients and families receive the highest quality of service in a caring and compassionate atmosphere which recognizes the individuals' needs and rights.

9. Implements patient's individualized treatment plan as established by the primary Physical Therapist.

10. Provides individualized physical therapy treatments including but not limited to:

* Therapeutic exercise including aerobic capacity conditioning, balance coordination, agility training, body mechanics and postural stabilization, flexibility exercises, gait and locomotion training, neuromotor development training, relaxation, strength, power, and endurance training

* Functional training

* Manual therapy

* Airway clearance techniques

* Integumentary repair and protection

* Use of electrotherapeutic, physical agent and mechanical modalities

Under the direction of the Support Services Manager and within established organizational and departmental policies and procedures, responsible for performing a variety of duties, including transporting patients, and sorting, processing and delivering mail and packages. Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Non-Violent Crisis Intervention training (MOAB or equivalent) required within three (3) months of hire

  • Use proper body mechanics to transport patients and equipment to all areas of the hospital. Transport and lift bodies into the morgue.
  • Transport blood to the floors as requested.
  • With, or without, nursing personnel, transfer patients onto and/or off beds, wheelchairs, and stretchers during patient transport.
  • Change oxygen tanks and maintain proper number of oxygen tanks in each unit.
  • Ensure proper IV positioning; make minor body adjustments and reset IV accordingly during patient transport.
  • Monitor patients requiring one to one observation, reporting change(s) in conditions and needs, and care as supervisor indicates.
  • Respond to security and life safety issues as needed.
  • Process incoming and outgoing mail and packages using a variety of delivery companies including, but not limited to, United States Postal Service, United Parcel Service and Federal Express.
  • Process and track packages using UPS computer.
  • Process outgoing letters using an automated mailing machine. Maintain related records and track charges by printing reports.
  • Prepare special mailings with Postal Service, i.e. First Class, Pre-sort and Third-Class Bulk Mailings. Complete necessary forms, sort and set up mailing for proper classification.
  • Sort interoffice memoranda and doctor's reports and distribute them to the proper locations.
  • Adhere to strict confidentiality guidelines.
  • Maintain established hospital and departmental policies and procedures, objectives, confidentiality, quality improvement program, compliance, safety, infection control, and environmental standards.
  • Maintain professional growth and development through attendance at seminars, workshops, conferences or in-services, professional affiliations, or journals to stay abreast of current trends in field of expertise.

Essential Job Duties

Required Qualifications

  • At least 2 years health care experience, including at least 1 year of experience working with persons with disabilities/chronic conditions long-term services and supports (LTSS), and 1 year of experience in care management, or experience in a medical and/or behavioral health setting, or equivalent combination of relevant education and experience.

Working under the direction of the Crew Chief, you will be responsible for effectively and safely setting up the acid, ammonia, and water systems necessary for the operation of our client’s custom-designed Mix Unit, made to blend liquid fertilizer.

As the Field Conversion Operator, you will travel to corporate and family-owned farms to facilitate and monitor the chemical mixing process onsite. This role requires operators to travel 60-80%, with company-paid lodging. While on the road, per diem is offered with an hourly pay differential and incentives. The company will sponsor efforts in training to obtain your Class A CDL and TWIC card. This is a direct-hire position based in El Dorado, Kansas. Requires the use of a respirator that has been fit-tested for safety.

Note: This position requires extensive travel @ 60-80% with the majority through the work week; some weekend travel is necessary

Responsibilities

  • Safe handling of hazardous materials and equipment used on the job.
  • Unloading and setup of equipment, including lifting, moving, and/or carrying parts, tools, hoses, electrical cords, and pumps.
  • Operating and monitoring process control equipment, including reading meters and gauges, taking product samples, making calculations, adjusting flow rates according to need, and recording data.
  • Shutting down the operation and disconnecting the Mix Unit, liquid pumps, and rail cars.
  • May drive company vehicle site-to-site hauling support equipment.
  • Responsible for driving safely and with respect for company property.
  • Perform routine basic preventative maintenance on company vehicles and equipment as needed.
  • Assist shop and plant personnel as a means of gaining experience and knowledge of a typical fertilizer operation during periods of non-travel.

  • High proficiency with Excel; comfort with building structured data models.
  • Experience working with or managing an external fund administrator is a plus.
