Senior Product Manager, AI Developer Platform
TikTok
san jose, ca
Compensation: 185.600 - 396.000

Location: San Jose

Employment Type: Regular

Job Code: A A

Responsibilities

About the team: The TikTok Marketing API team is responsible for building and managing the foundational programmatic infrastructure for TikTok’s advertising ecosystem, while enabling next‑generation AI‑native marketing workflows. Our scope includes Marketing APIs, Organic APIs, Business Messaging APIs, developer platforms, SDKs, CLI tooling, MCP and agentic integrations, AI ecosystem enablement, and technology partner and agency co‑development. We build the products and platform capabilities that allow developers, partners, agencies, and AI agents to programmatically create, manage, optimize, and scale advertising workflows on TikTok.

About the role: As a Senior Product Manager, AI Developer Platform, you will own key developer‑facing platform products that power TikTok’s API and AI‑native advertising ecosystem. This role sits at the intersection of developer platforms, advertising technology, AI tooling, and partner ecosystems. You will be responsible for defining and building products that help developers and partners integrate with TikTok more effectively, including APIs, SDKs, CLI workflows, MCP tooling, agentic enablement, documentation systems, developer experience improvements, and platform infrastructure. You will work closely with engineering, product, product marketing, developer relations, partnerships, sales, and external technology partners to identify developer pain points, define product requirements, and ship scalable platform capabilities. This role is ideal for someone who can move fluidly between product strategy and technical detail: someone who understands developer needs, can reason about API design and integration patterns, has strong judgment on AI‑native workflows, and can translate market and partner signals into a clear product roadmap.

  • Define and own the product roadmap for AI developer platform capabilities across APIs, SDKs, CLI tooling, MCP integrations, agentic workflows, documentation, and developer experience.
  • Partner closely with engineering to design and ship scalable developer‑facing products, including API capabilities, authentication flows, tooling, schemas, validation systems, sandbox environments, observability, and integration support infrastructure.
  • Deeply understand the needs of developers, technology partners, agencies, advertisers, and emerging AI agent ecosystems; translate those needs into clear product requirements and platform priorities.
  • Evaluate how AI‑native workflows, MCP/tool‑calling standards, agent frameworks, and developer tooling trends should influence TikTok’s API and platform strategy.
  • Drive product discovery across external partners and internal teams, including opportunity sizing, competitive analysis, workflow research, technical feasibility assessment, and developer feedback synthesis.
  • Collaborate with partner‑facing teams to identify integration pain points, product gaps, adoption blockers, and opportunities to make TikTok’s platform easier for developers and AI agents to use.
  • Define success metrics for developer platform products, including adoption, integration quality, time to first successful call, developer satisfaction, API usage, feature adoption, error reduction, and partner business impact.
  • Work across TikTok’s API surfaces, including Marketing APIs, Organic APIs, Business Messaging APIs, and emerging AI/agentic product capabilities.
  • Align with senior leadership on product vision, platform priorities, investment tradeoffs, and long‑term AI ecosystem strategy.
  • Create clear product narratives, requirements documents, launch plans, and internal/external enablement materials to drive alignment and adoption.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • 5 years or more of product management or closely related experience in developer platforms, API products, SaaS platforms, advertising technology, AI products, or enterprise software.
  • Experience owning technical products such as APIs, SDKs, developer tools, platform infrastructure, integrations, automation products, or workflow systems.
  • Strong technical fluency with APIs, authentication, request/response structures, webhooks, integration patterns, developer workflows, and system interactions.
  • Demonstrated ability to translate ambiguous developer, partner, or market needs into clear product strategy, requirements, roadmap priorities, and measurable outcomes.
  • Strong analytical and business judgment; comfortable using data, metrics, developer feedback, partner insights, and market signals to make product decisions.
  • Experience working cross‑functionally with engineering, product marketing, partnerships, sales, developer relations, operations, and external technology partners.
  • Ability to communicate complex technical and strategic topics clearly to both technical and non‑technical audiences.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience building or managing AI‑native developer platforms, agent tooling, MCP servers/tools, AI workflow products, LLM‑integrated applications, or developer tools for AI agents.
  • Experience with advertising APIs, marketing technology platforms, commerce platforms, or partner ecosystem products.
  • Familiarity with AI application stacks, including LLMs, tool calling, agents, MCP, RAG, evaluation, prompt/tool design, workflow orchestration, and AI‑assisted developer experiences.
  • Experience with developer experience products such as SDKs, CLIs, docs platforms, sandboxes, debugging tools, schema validation, sample apps, or integration testing frameworks.
  • Experience working with external developers, agencies, technology partners, or enterprise customers on technical integrations.
  • Strong product sense for platform design, including balancing flexibility, usability, reliability, scalability, governance, and ecosystem growth.
