Podiatric Foot and Ankle Surgeon
San Mateo Podiatry Group
Burlingame, CA

San Mateo Podiatry Group Opportunity

In 2026, an excellent knowledge of medicine and surgery of the foot and ankle is the baseline; it is necessary for entry, but at San Mateo Podiatry Group it is not sufficient for success. Founded in 1917, our organization has spent over a century defining what it means to be the most established practice in Northern California.

We don't "just treat patients"; we help them become their Best Selves and we expect the same from our team. This is an opportunity for a doctor who understands that while 62% of physicians in large groups and systems are burning out, the San Francisco Peninsula patient still actively prioritizes medical freedom.

You understand that diminishing insurance reimbursement is not a crisis, but an opportunity to provide a higher level of care to the household "CMO" (Chief Medical Officer)the woman making 80% of the healthcare decisions who values expert advocacy over an impersonal "gatekeeper" referral.

Discovery Through Inquiry

The clinical exam is the ultimate "Discovery" session. We believe that master-level medical and surgical exams are built on the art of the question. By asking deep, clarifying questions and listening for the patient's underlying goals, you aren't just diagnosingled by our Proven Method, you are delivering the solution. If you cannot help a patient connect their personal values to a clinical plan, you cannot serve them. We are looking for a surgeon who embraces the responsibility of empowering patients to choose the path that leads to their best outcomes.

Who should NOT apply?

Do not apply if you want to hide from your best self. If you are looking for a place to "clock in" and hide behind a computer screen, keep scrolling. We believe your professional satisfaction and compensation derive from the value you deliver to your patients. This is an associate track position, but is a pre-requisite to be considered for partnership opportunities.

The San Francisco Peninsula Patient: High-Expectation, High-Information

Our patients are sophisticated, invested, and proactive. They have often opted out of large, impersonal systems in search of a partner to co-author their recovery. They value their autonomy and expect a surgeon who respects their time and helps them reach their highest level of Self-Actualization.

The Challenge: Can You Master Our Proven Method?

We are looking for a leader who can deliver on our four-step promise:

  • Discovery: Do you have the energy to truly get to know your patients and understand their specific goals?
  • Examination: Can you perform a comprehensive history and physical exam to solve the specific challenges of their injuries?
  • Presentation: Can you Inform and Simplify? Can you use proven research to explain how a treatment meets a patient's values?
  • Relationship: Can you build the kind of trust that spans three generations of the same family?

One of the Most Technologically Advanced Practices in California:

  • Northern California's only accredited foot and ankle 3D CT scanner.
  • Diagnostic Ultrasound and Non-Invasive Vascular Testing.
  • Cutera GenesisPlus Laser, ESWT/Shockwave, MLS Laser, and EMTT Therapy.
  • Modern, highly developed EMR and Practice Management System.
  • Surgical center and full-scope hospital privileges available.

The Team is More Important Than the Tech

You will not work alone. You will be supported by an expert team of Patient Care Coordinators who work seamlessly alongside you to deliver state-of-the-art care. We invest in the best technology to support our people, but we hire for the character, energy, and empathy that no machine can replicate.

Is This Your Next Step?

Successful applicants will have completed a three-year CPME-approved residency and be board-qualified or certified. Professional California licensure, or an active application for the same, is a pre-requisite for application. Most importantly, you must be an excellent listener and communicator, with consistent positivity and energy. New residency and fellowship graduates are welcome!

The next move is up to you!

Application Instructions: The next move is a conversation. Please submit a complete application and an introductory video interview via SparkHire. Tell us how your training, experience, and passion about care will help our patients meet their goals.
