Job Summary and Qualifications
This role supports our free-standing ER where responsibilities include both X-Ray & CT functions. You may also be required to work at either the main campus, South Tampa Hospital and/or West Tampa Hospital.We are currently seeking a Florida-licensed CT Technologist on a part-time basis to provide computerized assisted tomographic services to patients as ordered by physicians following established standards and practices under the direction of the radiologist. As a CT Technologist for HCA Florida South Tampa Hospital, you will be competent in all of the following: brain, total spine, facial, sinus, orbits, thorax, abdomen, pelvis, upper/lower extremities, sella, and biopsies. As a CT Technologist, responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
- Select proper technical factors for study then perform and complete diagnostic CT examinations accurately in a caring, compassionate and respectful manner
- Possess sound and thorough operational knowledge of the CT scanner, pressure injector, resuscitation equipment, laser filmer, and teleradiology system
- Assist in the administration of contrast media and other related procedures
- Prepare, transfer and position patients as needed ensuring modesty, safely utilizing auxiliary equipment and/or devices indicated
- Document all pertinent clinical information prior to exam, obtain informed consent, and complete all required fields within MEDITECH accurately and on time
- Obtain high-quality CT images assuring only optimal images are submitted for interpretation
- Remain proficient in executing software protocols and keep up to date with changes in the field by in-service study, attending courses or seminars as necessary/recommended
- Maintain proactive and effective communication with patient and other caregiver colleagues to include the radiologist
- Check the operation of the equipment, maintain cleanliness of table/equipment to prevent cross-contamination of contagious diseases and keep room stocked with linens and necessary supplies
- Accept on-call and call-back responsibilities as needed to provide optimum patient care
Qualifications:
- Completion of a Radiologic Technology program at an accredited, AMA-approved institution
- Valid ARRT (R) and ARRT (CT) certifications
- Clear/active Florida Department of Health licensure (CRT)
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Knowledge of the use and maintenance of equipment specific to CT and X-ray
- Knowledge of the safety practices relative to radiation safety, hazardous material and infection control policies
- Knowledge of anatomy, physicology, sterile technique and patient positioning techniques specific to CT and X-ray
- Ability to perform work which requires frequent standing, bending, reaching, squatting, kneeling, moving, and/or lifting of patients/equipment (100+/- lbs.)

Job Summary and Qualifications
What you will do in this Role:
1. Demonstrates competency in all areas of computerized tomography (CT), positioning, procedure preparation, and technical factors associated with the CT Systems. Will display knowledge in the use of all other equipment used in CT Scan such as: power injectors, stereotactic biopsy equipment, biopsy and drainage needles and devices, and any other devices/equipment used in CT.
2. Responsible for the proper use of the Radiology Imaging System, Meditech (scheduling exams, patient tracking, Image tracking, proper completion of exams, capture charges).
3. Must demonstrate the knowledge and skill necessary to provide care to neonate, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients.
4. Will follow safety policies and procedures applicable to the job, recognizes impending crisis situations and institutes measures (such as adjusting priorities) to prevent further complications and makes a report to their supervisor.
5. Maintains cleanliness and inventory of the CT rooms to include equipment and facilities. Will follow proper disinfection techniques, restocks supplies as necessary, carts or work area will be cleaned and stocked at the completion of each shift.
6. Must be able to complete assignments independently and to work as part of a team; to take instructions from supervisors or team lead, to exercise problem-solving skills; and to interact with co-workers, supervisors, patients, vendors and the public in a professional and pleasant manner

11. Will facilitate and participate in current and future Radiology Department Dosewatch monitoring and implement changes accordingly. Employees shall assist in collection of data, reviewing and revising the dosewatch program to be in compliance with accrediting agencies, hospital goals, departmental Policies and Procedures. All employees shall demonstrate knowledge and responsibility for ongoing CT Radiation safety measures

This 5,808 square-foot facility features 7 all-private treatment rooms and a full range of services such as radiology, a full-service laboratory and telemetry. Job Summary and Qualifications
Responsible for solid to expert knowledge of all CT and X-Ray procedures. X-ray procedures include basic x-rays, fluoroscopy, and Portables. Communicates and works independently in performing all CT and X-Ray procedures on customers ranging in age from newborn to late adulthood. Our Radiology and Diagnostic Imaging Department provides a broad range of services to aid in the screening, diagnosis and treatment of medical conditions and emergent injuries. A few responsibilities of our Radiology Technologist (Rad Tech) include:
You will operate x-ray equipment to make radiographs of designated portions of the body.
Under the supervision of a Radiologist, your role performs x-ray therapy on patients and explains procedures to patients and addresses their concerns.
Your role will serve patients in our emergency department, patients in our hospital, and outpatient patients in need of services as well.
You will perform procedures in accordance with established protocols for patients ages neonate through geriatric.
Your role will be responsible for maintaining expert technical and patient-care skills and providing quality diagnostic results.
What qualifications you will need:
- Completion of an AMA approved Radiology Technology training program with current certification by ARRT.
- Must maintain current registry by attending continuing education activities to maintain knowledge and skill level.
- BLS through the American Heart Association or American Red Cross required.
- Critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision in a fast paced environment.
- Ability to perform work that requires frequent standing, bending, reaching, squatting, kneeling, moving, lifting of patients and/or equipment up to 50 lbs.

Job Summary and Qualifications

POPULATION SERVED:
Core competencies will be assessed primarily on the following patient population(s) served: Cardiovascular, GI, GU, GYN conditions and diseases including but not limited to: cholecystitis, BPH, oncology, uterine fibroids, fetal ultrasound, etc.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Operate ultrasound equipment to its full capability with knowledge of an A-mode, M-mode, B-mode, Doppler, and real time techniques, selecting the proper transducer frequency and diameter for performance of the examination.
Maintains production and quality of images by following established standards and procedures; capable of recognizing a diagnostic quality scan as well as artifacts from anatomic/pathologic structures.
Identifies patient service requirements by establishing personal rapport with potential and actual patients and other persons in a position to understand service requirements.
Ensures operation of ultrasound equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements; following manufacturer's instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; calling for repairs; maintaining equipment inventories; evaluating new equipment and techniques.
Maintains ultrasound supplies inventory by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed supplies; placing and expediting orders for supplies; verifying receipt of supplies.
Complies with federal, state, and local legal and professional requirements by studying existing and new legislation; anticipating future legislation; enforcing adherence to requirements; advising management on needed actions.
Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.
Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
Gains patient cooperation by reducing anxieties; providing explanations of treatment; answering questions.
Prepares patient for ultrasound procedure by positioning patient; moving equipment into specified position; adjusting equipment controls to set exposure factors.
Protects patients and employees by adhering to infection-control policies and protocols.
Documents patient care services by charting in patient and department records.
Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
Receives verbal orders for examinations from a licensed practitioner.
REQUIRED LICENSURE/CERTIFICATIONS
- Registered by the ARDMS or ARRT (S)
- Current BCLS certification
REQUIRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
- High School Graduate
- Graduate of an accredited Sonography program
- Comprehensive knowledge of anatomy and positioning
- Knowledge of department, hospital and universal infection control policies
- Must have effective communication and listening skills
PREFERRED EDUCATION, LICENSURE, CERTIFICATION, EXPERIENCE, SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES
- At least two years of experience/training in diagnostic ultrasound in at least two specialty areas (i.e. abdomen and Ob/Gyn)
- Extensive experience with available Ultrasound equipment in terms of product evolution, troubleshooting and quality control
