Brand Planner
Tatari
Los Angeles, CA

Brand Planner

Los Angeles, California, United States

Tatari is on a mission to revolutionize TV advertising. Founded in 2016 to help transform the antiquated world of TV advertising through the intelligent application of AI and machine learning, Tatari helps some of the world's fastest growing brands including Chime, Calm, Tecovas, Manscaped, Saatva, and Liquid I.V. reach their customers using linear and streaming TV ads. Our platform combines sophisticated media buying with proprietary analytics to turn TV advertising into an automated, digital-like experience, enabling businesses of any size to advertise on TV.

That approach has earned Tatari broad industry recognition, including being named Best CTV AdTech Platform in the 8th annual MarTech Breakthrough Awards, as well as honors from Digiday (Best Connected TV Platform), AdExchanger (Most Innovative TV Advertising Technology), and Business Insider (Hottest AdTech Companies). Tatari has also been recognized as the Best Place to Work by Inc. Magazine. Backed by an executive team of former founders and senior leaders from companies including Shazam, TrueCar, AdapTV, LiveRail, Amazon, Google, Meta, Microsoft, and Yahoo, Tatari continues to scale rapidly as TV advertising enters its next major era.

About the Role

TV advertising has never had more data behind it. At Tatari, we've spent years developing proprietary technology and measurement tools that give brands a clearer picture of what's actually working on TV. Now we're looking for someone who can put that intelligence at the center of every media plan we bring to clients.

As a Convergent TV Planner, Strategy & Insights, you'll play a central role in shaping media strategy across the full client lifecycle from competitive RFPs and new business pitches to scaling plans for existing clients and forward-looking scenarios that show brands exactly where they can grow and how to get there. In every case, your work starts with the audience, the data, and the 'why' and ends with a strategy that connects audience intelligence to measurable outcomes.

What sets this role apart is how you'll work. You'll bring together audience intelligence, competitive insights, and AI-powered tools to build strategies that go beyond channel selection and the platform, data, and support to back those recommendations.

Media Strategy & Audience Intelligence

  • Develop audience-first media strategies grounded in data, competitive insights, and marketplace intelligence
  • Leverage Tatari's proprietary measurement tools alongside third-party audience platforms to identify where a client's target consumer actually watches, and build a media plan around that
  • Use AI tools to surface audience insights, identify patterns across campaigns, and pressure-test strategic assumptions treating AI as a thinking partner, not just a production tool
  • Craft clear, compelling narratives that connect strategy to outcomes giving clients a confident answer to the question 'why this plan'

Planning & Proposal Development

  • Lead RFP responses from brief intake to submission, managing timelines and coordinating inputs from various stakeholders
  • Develop scaling plans for existing clients that show a clear path from where they are today to where they can grow, with the strategic rationale to back it up
  • Create forward-looking scenario plans that help clients visualize their media investment potential across different budget levels and objectives
  • Build pricing models, budget allocations, and investment recommendations that align with client KPIs and Tatari's measurement framework
  • Translate complex media strategies into client-ready visuals and executive summaries

Innovation & Process

  • Be an AI champion, incorporating AI tools into the planning workflow identifying where automation and intelligence can raise the quality of output without sacrificing strategic rigor
  • Create reusable pitch materials including one-pagers, case studies, vertical playbooks, and capability decks
  • Contribute to building a repeatable, scalable planning system maintaining RFP templates, response libraries, and best practice documentation for internal training
  • Track proposal performance and win/loss patterns to continuously sharpen strategy and improve future submissions

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in media planning, strategic planning, or client strategy role in within linear TV, streaming, or digital video
  • Working knowledge of the convergent TV landscape linear fundamentals (dayparts, networks, ratings, reach/frequency) and the streaming/CTV ecosystem (platforms, targeting, measurement)
  • A genuine curiosity about AI and how it can make media planning smarter with hands-on experience or a demonstrated drive to build it
  • Proven track record developing strategic media proposals and supporting new and existing business growth
  • Experience working directly with brands, agencies, or advertisers in a client-facing capacity
  • Ability to manage multiple workstreams simultaneously without losing strategic quality or missing deadlines
  • Curiosity and desire to learn, with particular emphasis for AI

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of audience measurement platforms (Nielsen, Comscore, VideoAmp, iSpot, etc.)
  • Familiarity with attribution and conversion measurement for video campaigns
  • Background in agency planning, network sales planning, or DSP/programmatic environments
  • Experience developing vertical-specific media strategies (CPG, fintech, DTC, health & wellness, etc.)
  • Exposure to Salesforce or similar CRM platforms

Benefits

  • Total compensation ($80,000-110,000/Annually)
  • Equity compensation
  • Health insurance coverage for you and your dependents
  • 401K, FSA, and commuter benefits
  • $150 monthly spending account

All clinical leadership is promoted from within, so the people supporting you have been exactly where you are.
