Receives patient Bedside Shift Report from an RN at the beginning of each shift, ensuring the inclusion of the patient input, visual validation of a safe patient room environment at the time of shift change and updating of the patient communication board found in each patient room Delegates patient care tasks/responsibilities to assigned HCTrsquo;s and validates completion of delegated tasks throughout the shift Completes and documents basic RN patient care activities such assessments, interpretation of vital signs, ensure physician order completion, admission/discharge of patients, hourly rounding completion on each assigned patient, care plan documentation and patient education Meets Carle Med/Surg RN documentation standards for each assigned patient RN will provide patient medications utilizing the patient 5 Rights: Right Patient, Right Medication, Right Route, Right Dose and Right Time Maintains patient safety as the highest priority level: ensuring safety measure compliance such as fall precautions, pressure ulcer prevention, isolation precautions and patient ambulation safety Maintains a positive attitude at all times on unit that promotes a healthy work environment and a healing patient environment Keeps a diligent focus on prompt answering of patient call lights to ensure effective triage and completion of patient requests/medical needs Uses critical thinking to evaluate the overall patient condition and uses nursing judgement to identify and act on changes in patient status Effectively communicates within the healthcare team to promote interdisciplinary collaboration, effective patient care coordination and patient safety

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Fulfill operating room circulator role during cardiac surgical procedures: Utilize expertise in open-heart surgery to assist the surgical team by managing surgical instruments, supplies, and equipment, and anticipating the needs of the surgeon and surgical team.
  2. Ensure patient safety: Maintain strict adherence to sterile techniques and infection control protocols, consistently monitor patient vital signs and responses to treatment, and intervene promptly in case of any complications or emergencies.
  3. Collaborate with interdisciplinary team: Communicate effectively with surgeons, anesthesiologists, surgical technicians, and other members of the surgical team to ensure seamless coordination and optimal patient outcomes.
  4. Coordinate with Intensive Care Unit (ICU) team: Collaborate closely with ICU nurses and physicians to facilitate the smooth transition of patients from the operating room to the ICU following cardiac surgery. Provide thorough handoff communication to ensure continuity of care and optimal patient outcomes.
  5. Provide support and assistance: Assist with patient positioning, draping, and preparation for surgery, as well as with wound closure and post-operative procedures as needed.
  6. Maintain accurate documentation: Record all pertinent information related to patient care, surgical procedures, and medication administration accurately and in a timely manner.
  7. Participate in quality improvement initiatives: Contribute to ongoing efforts to enhance patient safety, quality of care, and operational efficiency within the cardiac surgery department.

Qualifications:

  • Valid RN license in the state of practice.
  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience circulating in open-heart surgery.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and strongly preferred Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications.
  • Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to remain calm and focused during high-pressure situations.

This Scrub Tech opportunity is full time at 40 hours per week, offers full benefits and convenient flexiible schedule. This dynamic individual will assist

  • Accurately completes operating room counts (instruments, sponges, sharps); follows proper procedure in the event of incorrect count; reports all discrepancies to Circulating RN and surgeon and/or corrects immediately

This Emergency Department Tech II opportunity is full time, offers full benefits and a flexible dayshift schedule.  We are looking for someone that will provide direct and indirect patient care under the direction of a RN or physician.  Assists patients with activities of daily living, provides for personal care, emotional support and performs more complex clinical skills under the direction of a RN. 

Job Duties/Responsibilities :

  • Completes Bedside shift report in the room at the beginning and end of each shift for patients who remain in the ED that the CCT has performed direct patient care utilizing IMAP & SBAR. Ensures patient is provided with the names and contact numbers for members of the care team on the communication board every shift.
  • Provides supportive care to the Emergency Department patients under the direct supervision of the registered nurse or physician. Performs approved procedures per policy
  • Involves the patient and family psychosocial, spiritual and emotional, population specific, and diversity needs in care. 
  • Performs other duties as in-service, including crutch walking, dressing changes, wound cleaning/dressing, and assisting physician/nurse with splint or cast application

Job Overview:

Responsibilities

The Nursing Station Tech position is responsible for assisting with patient care, performing receptionist duties at the station, and maintaining patient care areas. 

Other titles/roles with similar duties to that of our Nursing Station Tech are Nurse Assistant (CNA), Patient Care Assistant (PCA) and Health Unit Coordinator.



Qualifications

18 years of age. Ability to function independently and maturely. Ability to read, write and carry out directions. Ability to assemble, maintain and record data in an accurate record. Must have sympathetic attitude toward the care of the ill. Qualifications

Responsibilities

The Patient Care Assistant (PCA) assists nursing staff with delegated tasks of direct and indirect patient care which support and complement nursing practice under the supervision of a registered nurse. At a minimum, the PCA carries out designated skills that are within those functions of a certified nursing assistant, as defined by the Arizona State Board of Nursing.
