Arup is seeking a Senior Fire Protection Engineer / Chemical Engineer to join our Fire Safety team. Senior Fire Protection / Chemical Engineers provide financial and commercial project management, lead technical engineering services in projects across markets, and mentor junior staff. Arup is looking for self-initiating problem-solvers who can work as part of a team to apply a wide range of fire and chemical technical skills. The role includes working closely with world renowned architects and building owners to develop code compliant designs and deliver innovative performance-based solutions. The role will involve interactive and collaborative work with our engineers and multi-disciplinary colleagues.

This role is preferred to be based out of our Los Angeles, San Fransico, or Oakland offices ; however, consideration will be given placement of this role in Seattle, San Diego, Houston, Dallas, or Austin.

The Opportunity:

  • Project management of multiple concurrent projects including project planning, staffing, financial management, and successful project delivery.
  • Provide consulting fire protection engineering services to a variety of potential clients, including but not limited to architects, developers, owners, government, and insurers.
  • Provide fire and life code consulting including ICC (IBC, IFC, IMC) codes and NFPA standards.
  • Perform hazardous material analysis for code compliance, including but not limited to hazardous material classifications, quantity analysis, and inventory management strategies.
  • Develop project-specific performance-based design alternative approaches for hazardous material code requirements.
  • Integrate code requirements for control areas, laboratory units, and/or high hazard occupancies into the overall design.
  • Perform risk assessments, qualitative or quantitative, for hazardous processes.
  • Analyze static ignition hazards for flammable liquids contained in non-metallic materials of construction and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Perform hazardous exhaust calculations, including spill and vapor concentration analysis with respect to rate of air change.
  • Perform hazardous gas release calculations.
  • Conduct Dust Hazard Analysis (DHA) and develop mitigations for dust explosion hazards.
  • Design special gas and flame detection systems including flammable gas/vapor detection and UV/IR flame detection.
  • Develop electrical classification requirements for specific hazardous process areas, including diagrammatic and narrative explanations.
  • Review and document site separation requirements for bulk hazardous materials storage.
  • Perform site visits and communicate with architects, contractors, and consulting teams.
  • Present design approaches to authorities having jurisdiction.
  • Contributing to Arup research and technical skill development activities.
  • Collaborate with multiple teams, across multiple offices in a multi-discipline environment.

Is this role right for you?

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Fire Protection Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or related field.
  • A minimum of 5 years of professional working experience in Fire Protection Engineering with a minimum of 8 years of professional experience across any engineering field.
  • A minimum of 2 years managing projects.
  • A P.E. license in fire protection engineering or in the process of achieving this professional credential is preferred.
  • Knowledge of specialty codes and standards, including but not limited to NFPA 2, NFPA 30, NFPA 33, NFPA 34, NFPA 45, NFPA 55, NFPA 68, NFPA 69, NFPA 77, NFPA 86, NFPA 484, NFPA 495, NFPA 496, NFPA 497, NFPA 499, and NFPA 660.
  • Familiarity with various types of material hazards, including but not limited to flammable & combustible liquids, combustible dusts & powders, reactive metals, compressed gases, cryogenic fluids, explosive materials, corrosive materials, and toxic/highly toxic materials.
  • Knowledge of process safety and compliance topics, including:
    • Hazardous exhaust systems
    • Explosion control systems
    • Spill control and secondary containment methods
    • Fire rated compartmentation for hazardous materials storage and processing
    • Ignition control / grounding and bonding
  • Strong communication skills essential for team-based and team-leading working.
  • Excellent planning and organization skills required for our fast-paced environment, and must be highly motivated, proactive, and willing to take on new challenges.
  • Solid understanding of relevant software, such as FDS, CONTAM, egress modeling software, AutoCAD, Revit, BlueBeam, and Microsoft Office.

Summary of position-


The Vice President of Maintenance will hold the FAA 119.69(a) Director of Maintenance responsibility for Elevate Jet’s Part 145 Maintenance Repair Station (MRO), ensuring aircraft are ready for dispatch on time and coordinating AOG maintenance support during charter flights to minimize aircraft downtime and delays to customer schedules. Active thorough planning and communication is essential to success in this role.


Essential Duties & Responsibilities-



  • Support and provide guidance of the managed fleet and third party providers and partner with Elevate Jet leadership to fully leverage internal resources in support of managed clients

  • Develop and or deepen OEM and supplier relationships for the benefit of Elevate Jet and its managed clients

  • Leverage resources within EAG, networking, and marketing efforts to support growth and success within the organization

  • Support existing staff, attract and retain future talent against growth and and the needs of the business; including building “bench strength” to support future leadership roles

  • Oversees all maintenance planning, scheduling, and completion of aircraft inspections, repairs, and maintenance schedules for the Elevate Jet MRO ensuring regulatory compliance and use of industry best practices

  • Ensures compliance with applicable FAA and/or EASA regulatory requirements (as applicable) and oversees all maintenance documentation, including logbooks, maintenance records, and work orders, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and regulatory compliance

  • Coordinates continuously with Flight Operations to support aircraft charter operations and establishes local maintenance support at remote locations to minimize aircraft downtime

  • Ensures compliance with all applicable FAA Regulations including Parts 43, 65, and 135 as well as company policies and procedures in all facets of the business

  • Serves as the primary contact point to the FAA Certificate Holding District Office and coordinates all recurrent audits and inspections

  • Provides regular fleet status reports to management and operations including maintenance status and MEL deferrals. Includes developing 30-day, 90-day and annual full maintenance forecasts and work scopes, obtaining shop quotes and schedules as requested, and coordinate with the customer to maximize aircraft availability and scheduling options


Requirements


Knowledge, Skills & Abilities-



  • Must be computer literate and knowledgeable of standard software as well as FlightDocs and CAMP maintenance software

  • Demonstrated experience on the fleet of aircraft we manage


Education & Experience-



  • FAA A&P License required with Inspection Authorization preferred

  • 10 years’ experience in aircraft maintenance operations with at least 3 years’ experience in FAA Part 145 leadership.

  • 3+ years experience with FAA Part 135 operations, Preferred

  • Fluency in English with a strong emphasis on writing to ensure proper and accurate aircraft maintenance record documentation. Must have excellent organizational skills.

  • High School diploma required


Schedule & Travel-



  • Standard business hours can be expected for this role, however due to the operational needs of the organization; nights, weekends, and holidays may be required

  • Position requires coordination with Flight Operations to establish maintenance support at remote locations.

  • Travel required to support maintenance operations and ensure work scope compliance with contracted work scopes.

  • FLSA Status- Full Time Exempt

  • Much of each shift will be performed while standing or walking and includes reaching overhead, bending, and lifting of up to 50 pounds. Must have the ability to work in all types of weather conditions.

As a Staff Design Engineer on our DRAM team, you'll shape the circuits at the heart of our next memory generations. You'll own design decisions that directly affect cost, quality, reliability, and time‑to‑market, and you'll partner with talented engineers across design, verification, product, and manufacturing. This is a role for someone who enjoys working close to silicon and wants real ownership over the products they help create.

Responsibilities

  • Design, lay out, and optimize Memory, Logic, and Analog circuits for new memory products
  • Handle parasitic modeling and support design validation, reticle experiments, and tape‑out revisions
  • Oversee the layout process, including floor‑planning, placement, and routing
  • Run verification through modeling and simulation using industry‑standard simulators
  • Partner with Marketing, Probe, Assembly, Test, Process Integration, and Product Engineering to ensure manufacturability, and use Generative AI tools to speed up design, analysis, and documentation while owning correctness and signoff

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or equivalent practical experience
  • 5 years of experience in CMOS and VLSI circuit design across digital and analog domains
  • Hands‑on mixed‑signal design experience, including schematic design, layout, and circuit simulation using industry‑standard tools
  • Experience with power distribution design, parasitic modeling, and tape‑out flows

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree or PhD in Electrical Engineering or a related field
  • DRAM or memory circuit design experience, including arrays, periphery, or datapath
  • Familiarity with PEX and PVT corner analysis
  • Experience using Generative AI tools (Copilot, Claude, or internal flows) for design, documentation, or debug
