SDS Registered Nurse (RN) - Pre-Op and Phase 2 Recovery

This position involves 5 8-hour shifts per week, totaling 40 hours. Shift times include 6:00 AM - 2:30 PM, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM, 9:00 AM - 5:30 PM, and 11:30 AM - 8:00 PM. Weekend call is required with 24-hour coverage from 8:00 AM to 8:00 AM.

The SDS RN is responsible for the pre-operative phase of care for surgical patients, which includes verifying consents and assessing patients, including medication reviews. The SDS RN will also handle Phase 2 post-operative care for patients.

Responsibilities:

  • Verify patient consents and conduct assessments prior to surgery.
  • Review patient medications and medical histories.
  • Provide Phase 2 post-operative care and monitoring of surgical patients.
  • Collaborate with surgical teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
  • Support PACU RN as needed and provide assistance within the unit.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure:

  • 5 years of nursing experience preferred.
  • Current RN licensure is required.
  • Experience with IV insertion and EPIC Optime.
  • Perioperative experience, particularly in pre-op and Phase 2 recovery.
  • Specific skills with bladder scanners, EKGs, glucometers, and pneumatic devices.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform physical examinations and nonsurgical procedures (including but not limited to injecting neurotoxins, neuromodulator devices, and fillers), discuss expected patient outcomes, prepare treatment plans, and manage patients with facial aesthetic needs
