About the Role

As a Technician III Ground Support Equipment (GSE), you will serve as a senior-level technician responsible for inspecting, troubleshooting, repairing, modifying, and maintaining the Ground Support Equipment (GSE) that supports Shield AI's V-BAT unmanned aircraft systems.

This role requires an experienced technician who can independently diagnose complex electrical, electronic, and mechanical issues while interpreting technical documentation and completing high-quality repairs. You'll also provide technical guidance to other maintenance personnel and help improve maintenance procedures and equipment reliability.

The primary focus is supporting V-BAT Ground Support Equipment. When GSE workload allows, you'll also assist with organizational-level maintenance, inspections, modifications, and operational checks on V-BAT aircraft.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on V-BAT Ground Support Equipment, support systems, test equipment, and related assets.
  • Troubleshoot complex electrical, electronic, mechanical, and power distribution systems using wiring diagrams, schematics, and diagnostic equipment.
  • Inspect, repair, modify, and operationally test equipment to ensure safety, reliability, and mission readiness.
  • Build, repair, and inspect electrical wiring harnesses, connectors, cables, and electronic assemblies.
  • Perform soldering, crimping, pinning/de-pinning, continuity, resistance, and voltage testing.
  • Operate electrical and mechanical diagnostic equipment including:
    • Digital multimeters
    • Power supplies
    • Insulation testers
    • Load-testing equipment
  • Diagnose failures to the component or subassembly level and recommend repair or replacement solutions.
  • Perform equipment modifications in accordance with engineering documentation, service bulletins, and company procedures.
  • Complete detailed maintenance documentation, including repairs performed, troubleshooting actions, parts used, labor hours, inspections, and operational checks.
  • Identify recurring equipment issues and recommend improvements to increase reliability and maintainability.
  • Support root cause investigations and communicate findings with Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, and Maintenance leadership.
  • Assist with developing and improving maintenance procedures, task instructions, inspection criteria, and technical manuals.
  • Review technical documentation for accuracy, safety, tooling requirements, and maintainability.
  • Assist maintenance leadership with repair planning, workload coordination, and equipment prioritization.
  • Inspect completed work to ensure compliance with technical standards and maintenance requirements.
  • Maintain accountability for tools, test equipment, and support assets.
  • Assist with V-BAT aircraft maintenance, inspections, modifications, troubleshooting, and operational checks as needed.

Qualifications and Experience
