About this Job: General Summary of Position
Provides comprehensive Medical Nutrition Therapy to inpatients with a variety of medical conditions. Primary Duties and Responsibilities


  • Consults with and/or makes recommendations to physicians and other allied health professionals regarding patients' nutritional statuses nutrient needs or specific diet plans.
  • Formulates nutrition assessment evaluation and follow-up plans for patients at nutrition risk as ordered by providers or according to departmental policy. Recommends and documents patient's nutrition treatment findings and plan in the patients' medical record.
  • Participates in clinical rounds and appropriate department/service meetings and communicates appropriate information to administrative personnel in the service area.
  • Consults in/outpatients in diet rationale for self-management.
  • Must be flexible to cross-cover and train in all areas including Neonatal ICU and Pediatrics as needed.
  • Provides staff relief and cross-coverage as delegated for in/outpatient services.
  • Reviews at least one annual review of literature pertinent to area(s) of responsibility and present to peers in Journal Club.
  • Performs at least one formal professional presentation in an area of specialty to allied health professionals or the community.
  • Attends pertinent meetings to enhance clinical practice to growth records and documents in CDR Professional Development Plan.
  • Maintains current CDR credentials and DC Licensure and completes yearly competencies as outlined by MGUH.
  • Hold current membership to professional organization pertinent to the role.
  • Participates in licensing surveys as needed.

    Job Description

    The Interventional Radiology Technologist (IRT) reports to the Interventional Radiology Supervisor. Under limited supervision, the IRT competently performs technical duties utilizing various types of equipment to image selected vascular structures or therapeutic intervention to assist in diagnosis or treatment. This role provides appropriate patient care and recognizes patient conditions essential for successful completion of the procedure. The technologist applies principles of positioning, radiographic sciences, and ensures radiation protection is exercised with specialized techniques. This position assists and supports the physicians with invasive procedures.

    PRN Status Clause:

    This is a PRN as-needed position, you must be available to work at least 12 hours bi-weekly, as needed according to departmental demands. You may be required to work additional hours if requested by your supervisor to accomplish work objectives. Work hours may vary (increase or decrease) depending on the needs of the unit.

    Additional Job Description

    Education: Graduate from an accredited school of radiologic technology

    License/Certification: Must be registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists. Licensure from the South Carolina Radiation Quality Standards Association is required. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association (AHA) is required. Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) is preferred.

    Essential Functions

    • Direct Patient Care
    • Review available medical information; take appropriate history of the present illness; and communicate with the patient's attending physician to develop patient focused plan of care.
    • Physically examine patient to assess symptoms, to evaluate for progression of disease, and to recommend modifications in the plan of care.
    • In consultation with the patient's attending physician recommend appropriate laboratory and imaging studies to evaluate progression of illness and/or response to palliative therapies.
    • Provide patients and their families with counseling, education, and psychosocial support.
    • Assist patients and their families in establishing the goals of care.
    • Facilitate family meetings when the presence of a physician will serve to improve the outcome of the meeting.
    • Communicate with hospice nurses to address pain and other symptom management issues.
    • Communicate with the patient's attending/referring physician to discuss patient management issues including therapies that are outside of the usual hospice plan of care.
    • Facilitate transfers to HPCCR hospice houses by communicating with the Medical Director.
    • Serve as the attending physician for patients who choose the hospice physician as their attending physician.
    • Submit billing and documentation according to policy.
    • Provide on-call availability per employment agreement.
    • Review and complete necessary administrative paperwork including death certificates, prescriptions, hospice orders; and hospice plans of care (485's).
    • Review and sign new hospice referrals for eligibility and, if necessary, request/obtain additional information to determine eligibility.
    • Discuss patient pain and symptom management issues with hospice nurses as needed.
    • Communicate with outside physicians when issues arise that require physician-to-physician discussions.
    • Collaborate with the Director of Clinical Services to formulate a plan of care for patients whose needs are outside of the usual hospice plan.
    • Through review of the documentation and in discussion with members of the IDT assess the efficacy of the plan of care for new admissions and for patients already under hospice care.
    • Serve as an educational resource, either in planned formal didactic sessions or in less formal "teachable moments," for the members of the IDT.
    • Through review of the documentation and in discussion with members of the IDT evaluate the ongoing eligibility of patients under hospice care.
    • Recommend changes in the plan of care to improve symptom control and to reduce suffering.
    • As part of the IDT provide psychosocial support for other members of the team when emotionally or spiritually difficult patient care situations arise.
    • May be "physician designee" with ability to sign/authorize in absence of Medical Director.
    • Make determination to certify that patient is terminally ill in consultation with the attending physician; recertify eligibility for hospice for subsequent election periods; makes decision regarding discharge from hospice when indicated.
    • Submit all billing and documentation according to established policy.
    • Participate in on call responsibilities in accordance with hiring agreement.
    • May perform other duties as required.

    Your Responsibilities

    • Maintain visual store aesthetic through routine cleaning, mannequin changes, organizing displays and general tidying of the floor

    • Other operational duties including answering phones and fulfilling customer service shipments
    • Provide knowledgeable and up to date details of Stio products, sales, and pricing
