Many procedures can now be done on an outpatient basis with patients going home the same day. The Registered Nurse is responsible and accountable for planning and providing patient care for patients in accordance with established Nursing Standards of Care. He/she demonstrates initiative, knowledge and clinical skills in caring for the patient with complex needs. The Registered Nurse demonstrates the ability to effectively manage patients by assuming full responsibility for the assessment, plan, implementation and evaluation of nursing care and is directly reports to a designated nurse manager and/or clinical manager / off shift manager.

WellSpan Ephrata Community Hospital is seeking a Board Certified or Board Eligible Hematologist/Oncologist for ongoing locum coverage beginning July 27, 2026, with a minimum 6-month commitment. This is a full-time, clinic-based role in a well-supported rural community setting with an established patient panel already in place.

About the Role

This is a clinic and hospital-based position covering adult hematology and oncology patients in a community setting. The patient mix is approximately 60% hematology and 40% oncology, with an average of 15 patients per day. The scope of care includes solid tumor oncology, benign hematology, and malignant hematology.

The onsite infrastructure is strong the facility has a 14-chair infusion center, a 2-bed infusion room, oncology-certified nursing staff, an onsite pharmacist, and radiation oncology located within the same building. The physician will also participate in disease-specific and general tumor boards.

This role does not require bone marrow biopsies, lumbar punctures, port access, or BMT consults/care.

Schedule

  • Full-time, 5 clinic days per week
  • Clinic hours: 8:00 AM 4:30 PM
  • First patient at 8:15 or 8:30 AM, last patient at 3:30 PM
  • 30-minute lunch break included
