Role

As a Humanoid Robot Pilot, you'll have the unique opportunity to work directly with our learning humanoid robots and teach them new behaviors and skills. You will be at the forefront of our operations, collecting new data to train our AI systems and working with the AI team to refine behaviors over time.

This role is a full-time 6 month fixed-term position, paid hourly. It's a strong entry point into robotics: high-performing Pilots have opportunities to grow into Senior Pilots and other lead positions as they become available.

This role requires flexibility to work across varying shifts, including nights. Travel is also required and may vary in length, from short day trips to offsite stays of up to one month.

Responsibilities

  • Wear teleoperation equipment and guide the robot through designated behaviors
  • Upload collected data to our AI training system
  • Proactively identify issues during collection and report feedback daily to Figure's AI team
  • Maintain a safe environment for both yourself and the robot during teleoperation
  • Follow proper equipment and robot maintenance procedures, including bring-up and shutdown

Position Summary

Phoenix Children’s – Division of Cardiology is actively seeking up to 2 full‑time faculty to join the Advanced Heart Failure – Cardiac Transplant Team at the level of Instructor, Assistant, or Associate Professor of Clinical Pediatrics and Child Health. The program performs an average of 12‑15 heart transplants annually, follows heart failure patients in both the inpatient and outpatient setting and supports a mechanical circulatory support program offering the full range of pediatric and adult devices. The successful applicant will join our heart transplant team, consisting of three physician members, five NP transplant coordinators, a dedicated VAD coordinator, and interdisciplinary members in areas of nutrition, pharmacy, social work and child psychology.

Applicants must have an M.D. or equivalent degree, be board certified or board eligible in Pediatric Cardiology by the American Board of Pediatrics and eligible for medical licensure in the State of Arizona. Candidates will have already completed an ACGME accredited 3‑year fellowship in Pediatric Cardiology, with an additional year of advanced subspecialty training in pediatric advanced heart failure including management of cardiac transplant patients and mechanical circulatory support.

Candidates should demonstrate a rigorous academic focus preferably in clinical and/or translational research, however, basic science opportunities are also available. Academic clinical faculty appointments will be facilitated at the University of Arizona College of Medicine – Phoenix and Tucson, Creighton University School of Medicine, and Mayo Clinic School of Medicine – Scottsdale. What you will do

  • Assist in planning for resource allocation including equipment usage, selection and replacement, staffing requirements, budget preparation, and review of departmental policies and procedures.
  • Responsible for performance specification, acceptance testing, and commissioning of new equipment.
  • Perform calibration of the treatment machines and maintenance of all information necessary for their appropriate use.
  • Serve as the focal point for machine maintenance and repair, and when systems are again ready for clinical use.
  • Oversee the performance levels of imaging equipment used in radiation oncology.
  • Develop and maintain a quality assurance program for all treatment modalities, localization procedures, and computational equipment and programs to assure the patients receive prescribed doses and dose distributions, within acceptable degrees of accuracy and according to the recommendations of AAPM task group reports, industry standards, accrediting organization, and federal and state regulations.
  • Maintain all instrumentation required for calibration of sources, measurement of radiation, and calculation of doses.
  • Work in conjunction with Radiation Safety Officer to comply with all regulating and certifying agencies.
  • Provide consultation for personnel radiation exposure.

  • Participate on the institutional Radiation Safety Committee and other committees as needed.
  • Perform calculation of shielding required for new or renovated treatment rooms, radioactive source storage and handling facilities.
