Seeking a Ultrasound Tech Perinatal PRN for our practice who provides specialized expertise to ensure all patients receive high quality, efficient care. What you will do in this role:

  • Applies fetal ultrasound principles in the evaluation of fetal anomalies
  • Applies gynecological ultrasound principles in the evaluation of patient
  • Adapts to various ultrasound machines while maintaining high standards of sonography
  • Identifies fetal anomalies, such as CNS, maxillofacial, cardiothoracic, abdomen, abdomen wall, genitourinary, extremity placental, umbilical cord growth disturbance
  • Performs ultrasounds on maternal uterus, cervix and ovaries
  • Performs complicated twin and triplet scans in conjunction with in-office multiple gestation service
  • Identifies gynecological anomalies such as fibroids, thickened endometrium and polyps
  • Makes preliminary, equivocal diagnosis of gynecological and fetal disorders in the organ systems mentioned in above
  • Operates General Electric, Accuson, Medison, and ATL ultrasound machines with proficiency.
  • Continues to expand knowledge of latest technology
  • Maintains ultrasound logging records including past medical history, past surgical history, past obstetric history, and past genetic history.
  • Prepares patients for procedures including and not limited to Level I &II ultrasounds, amniocentesis, lung maturity amniocentesis, PUBS, amino reduction, external cephalic version, and GYN ultrasound
  • Maintains professional relationship with other staff members, other obstetric offices and hospital personnel
  • Exercises independent judgement when interpreting Biophysical Profiles designed to assess fetal well-being
  • Alerts physicians of potentially dangerous conditions. Diagnoses fetal weight disturbances based on fetal biometry
  • Diagnoses multiple fetal anomalies and reports and demonstrates them to physician
  • Other duties as assigned

What Qualifications you will need:

  • Associates degree in Ultrasound required
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • RDMS required
  • RDMS – OB/GYN preferred

What you will do in this Role:

1. Supervises assigned personnel and is responsible for effectively and efficiently staffing the imaging section(s). Evaluates performance and makes recommendations for personnel actions. Motivates employees to achieve peak productivity and performance

2. Demonstrates knowledge and proficiency in the use of the following equipment: power injectors, , Magnetic Resonance Imaging positioning, procedures preparation and technical factors associated with MRI systems

3.Maintain clean, stocked inventory and equipment service records. Works with vendors to ensure optimum uptime of equipment in section(s). Schedules preventive maintenance and emergency maintenance without disrupting patient care.

4. Ensures efficient workflow in the section by getting patients started on time and keeping room turnaround time to a minimum. Organizes work in such a way that the structure responds quickly to changes in workload.

5. Supervises personnel to include interviewing, work allocation, orientation and training, staff development, problem resolution, evaluating performance, making recommendations for personnel actions, and motivating employees to achieve peak performance

6. Must be able to complete assignments independently and to work as part of a team; to take instructions from supervisors; to exercise problem-solving skills; and to interact with co-workers, supervisors, patients, vendors and the public in a professional and pleasant manner.

Additional Job Roles:

1. May have access to radiopharmaceuticals, contrast agents and other non-controlled medications as appropriate to diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.

2. May be called upon to physically witness and/or inventory controlled substances with another authorized individual.

3. Will integrate current scientific knowledge and technology into their work practices, play an active roll in the orientation and training of new employees and students and participate in continuing education provided to the department during work hours. Yearly, the supervisor will participate in and complete their Job skills/Competency Checklist.

4. Demonstrate support, knowledge and skill to provide necessary care to pediatric adolescent, adult and geriatric patients.

5. Must facilitate and participate in current and future Radiology Department CQI monitoring and implement changes accordingly. Employees shall assist in collection of data, reviewing and revising the CQI program to be in compliance with accrediting agencies, hospital goals, departmental Policies and Procedures. All employees shall demonstrate knowledge and responsibility for ongoing CQI.

6. Main current CPR certification in Basic Life Support. Continues to improve leadership abilities

7. Will establish relationships with other supervisors throughout MHS to develop a network and mentoring opportunities. Also develops relationships with other departments within MHS and looks for opportunities for integration or interaction.

8. Supports the mission and vision of the Methodist Healthcare System and demonstrates excellent customer service at all times.

10.     Job Summary and Qualifications

    This role supports our free-standing ER where responsibilities include both X-Ray & CT functions. You may also be required to work at either the main campus, South Tampa Hospital and/or West Tampa Hospital.

    We are currently seeking a Florida-licensed CT Technologist on a full-time/part-time/PRN/per diem/as-needed basis to provide computerized assisted tomographic services to patients as ordered by physicians following established standards and practices under the direction of the radiologist. As a CT Technologist for HCA Florida South Tampa Hospital, you will be competent in all of the following: brain, total spine, facial, sinus, orbits, thorax, abdomen, pelvis, upper/lower extremities, sella, and biopsies. We prioritize patient care activities, if you are dedicated to caring for others, this could be your next career opportunity.

    As a CT Technologist, responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

    • Select proper technical factors for study then perform and complete diagnostic CT examinations accurately in a caring, compassionate and respectful manner
    • Possess sound and thorough operational knowledge of the CT scanner, pressure injector, resuscitation equipment, laser filmer, and teleradiology system
    • Assist in the administration of contrast media and other related procedures
    • Prepare, transfer and position patients as needed ensuring modesty, safely utilizing auxiliary equipment and/or devices indicated
    • Document all pertinent clinical information prior to exam, obtain informed consent, and complete all required fields within MEDITECH accurately and on time
    • Obtain high-quality CT images assuring only optimal images are submitted for interpretation
    • Remain proficient in executing software protocols and keep up to date with changes in the field by in-service study, attending courses or seminars as necessary/recommended
    • Maintain proactive and effective communication with patient and other caregiver colleagues to include the radiologist
    • Check the operation of the equipment, maintain cleanliness of table/equipment to prevent cross-contamination of contagious diseases and keep room stocked with linens and necessary supplies
    • Accept on-call and call-back responsibilities as needed to provide optimum patient care

    Qualifications:

    • Completion of a Radiologic Technology program at an accredited, AMA-approved institution
    • Valid ARRT (R) and ARRT (CT) certifications
    • Clear/active Florida Department of Health licensure (CRT)
    • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
    • Knowledge of the use and maintenance of equipment specific to CT and X-ray
    • Knowledge of the safety practices relative to radiation safety, hazardous material and infection control policies
    • Knowledge of anatomy, physicology, sterile technique and patient positioning techniques specific to CT and X-ray
    • Ability to perform work which requires frequent standing, bending, reaching, squatting, kneeling, moving, and/or lifting of patients/equipment (100+/- lbs.)

    St. David’s North Austin Medical Center, part of St. David’s HealthCare, is a full-service medical center providing comprehensive medical care at two locations – St. David’s North Austin Medical Center and St. David’s Surgical Hospital.
    St. David’s North Austin Medical Center is a 460+ bed, multi-specialty, acute care hospital.     St. David’s Women’s Center of Texas, located at St. David's North Austin Medical Center, is recognized by the State of Texas as a Level IV Maternal Facility. This means it provides the highest level of care for pregnant and postpartum patients, especially those with serious or complex medical, surgical, or pregnancy-related conditions, including those at high risk for maternal morbidity or mortality. The center includes a 95+ bed Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) with 30+ private rooms, 10+ rooms for very small babies, and 10+ beds for babies needing neurological care. It also has 35+ labor, delivery, and recovery rooms, including Central Texas’ first low-intervention birthing suites with tubs. There are 95+ postpartum beds, 20+ antepartum beds, and Cesarean section surgical suites. The facility offers 24/7 neonatology coverage, OB/GYN hospitalists, maternal-fetal medicine specialists, lactation consultants, and a midwifery program. It is part of the National Institute of Child Health and Human Development Maternal-Fetal Medicine Units Network and TexasAIM, and it also provides a high-risk pregnancy navigation and support program.

    St. David's Surgical Hospital is part of St. David’s North Austin Medical Center and is the first Level 4 Epilepsy Center in Central Texas for both adults and children. It has its own 24-hour emergency department, a medical-surgical inpatient unit, and a pediatric intensive care unit (PICU) for patients ages 17 and under. The hospital is staffed with pediatric emergency physicians, pediatric hospitalists, intensivists, and other specialists who are specially trained to care for children. It also includes certified child-life specialists who help kids feel more comfortable during their hospital stay. St. David’s Children’s Hospital offers many pediatric services, such as pediatric surgery, pediatric radiology (including imaging and interventional procedures), and pediatric anesthesia for surgical support.     As a Radiology Tech, you will: 


    • Work with all clinic staff to ensure efforts are coordinated and that patients receive high quality care and services. Provides care to patientsin a timely manner. 
    • Perform all x-ray views according to provider’s orders, clinical practice under statelawand in compliance with company policy and procedures.     • Maintain records and logs on activities including in-house lab work, drug screens, x-rays, and lab work sent out to other labs. Perform equipment audits as scheduled. Ensure the occupational client’s work form is followed and occupational procedures are adhered to. 
    • Work closely with the Center Manager, Medical Staff, Front Desk Coordinator and all clinic staff to maintain smooth operations and high customer satisfaction. 
    • Follow all company policies pertaining to infection control and hand hygiene. 
    • May be required to work alternate shifts and may be required to float to other clinic locations. 















      


    You Should Have:  


    • Graduate of an accredited school of Radiologic Services required.

    • Operates General Electric, Accuson, Medison, and ATL ultrasound machines with proficiency.
    • Continues to expand knowledge of latest technology
    • Maintains ultrasound logging records including past medical history, past surgical history, past obstetric history, and past genetic history.
    • Prepares patients for procedures including and not limited to Level I &II ultrasounds, amniocentesis, lung maturity amniocentesis, PUBS, amino reduction, external cephalic version, and GYN ultrasound

    • Exercises independent judgement when interpreting Biophysical Profiles designed to assess fetal well-being

The model maintenance includes adding and updating ratings for the transmission equipment and contingency definitions. The engineers also provide support for all EMS application functionality. Provide real time engineering / operations support to System Operations staff focused on State Estimator and Contingency Analysis solutions. Development and review of operating procedures.

     

    Develops studies, plans, criteria, specifications, calculations, evaluations, design documents, performance assessments, integrated systems analysis, cost estimates, budgets, associated with the planning, design, licensing, construction, commissioning, operation, and maintenance of Exelon's electric generation, transmission, distribution, gas and telecommunication facilities/systems. Provides consultation and recommendations to the Company within and to other business units and/or customers as a result of studying company or customer-owned systems, processes, equipment, vehicles or facilities. Reviews financial data from budget and actual costs of projects. Operates independently and seeks guidance when appropriate. Position may be required to work extended hours for coverage during storms or other energy delivery emergencies.

     

    Note: This is a hybrid position (in-office with remote flexibility). Employees are required to be in office at least three days per week (Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday). This position must sit out of our  Kennett Square - PA  office.

    • Performs engineering tasks associated with critical engineering projects or a number of small projects with many complex features. 
    • Performs assignments in areas where engineering precedents are incomplete, lacking or require broad experience.
