Opportunity Overview
A Core Service Agency in Southeast Washington, DC is seeking a Medical Director (MD) to provide administrative oversight, clinical leadership, and targeted psychiatric support. This is a highly remote, part time role with the expectation that nearly all responsibilities can be completed via telehealth.
Onsite presence is possible but unlikely , and would only be requested for specific needs such as audits, key meetings, or programmatic requirements.
The Medical Director will oversee psychiatric services, support Nurse Practitioners, and ensure high quality care across a diverse outpatient population.
Position Details

- Hours: Approximately 2.5 5 hours/week

- Onsite presence only if needed , and not expected on a routine basis

- Team: Three Nurse Practitioners provide the majority of medication/somatic services

- CSA experience across the lifespan is important, especially with youth.
Responsibilities
Administrative (%)
- Provide clinical oversight and leadership for psychiatric services
- Supervise and support Nurse Practitioners
- Participate in audits, meetings, and quality assurance activities (remote unless onsite is specifically required)
- Consult on complex or high risk cases
- Review documentation and ensure compliance with DBH standards
- Maintain availability for consultation and supervisory needs
Clinical (%, as needed)
Direct clinical duties occur only when clinically appropriate or upon consumer request:
- Psychiatric evaluations
- Medication management support or second opinions
- Meeting with consumers who request Medical Director involvement
- Guidance on complex clinical presentations
Visit Lengths (if providing direct care)
- Initial Evaluations: 60 minutes
- Follow Ups: minutes
Requirements
- MD required (Medical Director must be a physician)
- Active or eligible DC medical license
- Experience treating adults and youth preferred
- Prior leadership or supervisory experience strongly preferred
- Familiarity with community mental health and high risk populations
- Ability to provide remote oversight with occasional onsite visits only if necessary
