As a 1099 physiatrist, you will diagnose and provide direct specialist services to patients for pain management and physical rehabilitation from work-related injuries. You’ll also collaborate with employers in active case management.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and manage a wide range of physical disabilities and conditions, including musculoskeletal issues, chronic pain, and neurological disorders from work-related injuries; assess patients’ medical history, physical exams, and x‑rays.
  • Develop individualized treatment plans that may include physical therapy, therapeutic exercises, medications, injections, and non‑surgical interventions to improve function and mobility.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including physical therapists and medical doctors, to ensure comprehensive patient care.
  • Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans as needed to achieve optimal outcomes.
  • Educate patients on their conditions, prevention, and the rehabilitation process.
  • Complete timely and accurate documentation in EMR.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited medical program with an M.D. or D.O. and an unrestricted California medical license.
  • Board certified or eligible in the state where employed and in accordance with state laws of practice.
  • Licensure requirements of the state of jurisdiction.
  • DEA required.
  • BLS, AED, and ACLS certified required.
  • Current Medical Malpractice Insurance coverage.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and patient management software.
  • Excellent work ethic and dedication to patient success.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Background in occupational medicine, physical medicine and rehabilitation, or outpatient setting is preferred.
