Infusion Nurse
LUX Infusion
Kansas City, MO

Job Description

Job Description

See your work in a new light.

At LUX Infusion, we're reimagining infusion care to be more human, supportive, and connected. Inspired by lux—meaning light - we guide patients, providers, and partners through complex therapies with clarity, compassion, and confidence.

As a clinician-led, U.S.-based organization, we put people first - helping patients feel seen and supported through faster therapy starts, dedicated care coordination, and meaningful collaboration. Our commitment to inclusion, diversity, equity, and advancement (IDEA) is central to our culture, ensuring every team member feels valued and empowered to make a difference.

Schedule: Per Diem / As Needed
Location: Patient homes and infusion suites within designated metropolitan service areas
(Work location subject to change based on business needs)

See Your Work in a New Light

At LUX Infusion, we believe infusion care should feel personal, supportive, and deeply human — no matter where care is delivered. Our nurses play a critical role in helping patients receive complex therapies safely and confidently in the setting that's right for them.

We're looking for a Per Diem Home Infusion Nurse who wants their work to mean something — a skilled Registered Nurse who brings clinical excellence, flexibility, and compassion to patients receiving care in their homes or infusion suites.

Why This Role Matters

Home infusion requires clinical confidence, independence, and trust. As a Per Diem Home Infusion Nurse, you are often the primary clinical presence for patients navigating complex therapies outside of a traditional hospital environment.

In this role, you'll contribute to work that:

  • Helps patients receive life‑sustaining infusion therapies safely at home or in infusion suites
  • Supports continuity of care through skilled assessments, monitoring, and education
  • Builds confidence for patients and caregivers through calm, clear communication
  • Strengthens a clinician‑led organization focused on safety, access, and outcomes

Your work ensures patients can continue therapy with dignity, comfort, and peace of mind.

What You'll Do

In this role, you will:

  • Administer, monitor, and discontinue intravenous therapies in patient homes or infusion suite settings
  • Insert and manage IV access including peripheral lines, PICC lines, ports, and midlines
  • Monitor patients for adverse reactions and respond appropriately to changes in condition
  • Perform venipuncture and collect blood samples as required
  • Complete patient assessments, vital signs, and reviews of systems during each visit
  • Provide individualized patient and caregiver education on infusion therapy, line care, and symptom monitoring
  • Coordinate and communicate visit details, scheduling updates, and clinical documentation with internal care teams and external partners
  • Document all patient‑related activities accurately, including medications administered and patient responses
  • Assist with planning, organizing, and coordinating patient care delivery across nursing personnel
  • Communicate concerns or reportable events promptly to physicians and internal clinical leadership
  • Uphold all confidentiality, compliance, and ethical standards related to patient care

What We're Looking For

You may be a great fit if you bring:

  • Strong clinical judgment and comfort working independently in home‑based settings
  • Calm, empathetic communication with patients and caregivers
  • Confidence delivering IV therapy outside of acute care environments
  • Strong organization skills and attention to detail
  • Flexibility and professionalism in a per‑diem role

Required Qualifications

  • Nursing degree from an accredited college or university
  • Current, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice
  • Minimum of two (2) years of RN experience
  • IV certification and experience with central line care and management
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel to patient homes
  • CPR certification
  • Experience with patient assessments, documentation, and care coordination
  • Basic computer proficiency (Microsoft Office and clinical systems)
  • Willingness to travel throughout assigned service areas

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in nursing
  • RN licensure in multiple states
  • Prior experience in home infusion, home care, critical care, emergency nursing, or hospital discharge planning
  • Experience with PICC, port, or midline access and certification

You don't need to check every box — we care just as much about how you care for patients as where you've worked before.

Why LUX Infusion

At LUX Infusion, we believe care deserves more light — more warmth, more clarity, and more connection.

Here, you'll find:

  • Purpose‑driven nursing work with immediate patient impact
  • Flexibility through per‑diem scheduling
  • A patient‑first, clinician‑led culture
  • Strong clinical support and clear care standards
  • The opportunity to build meaningful one‑on‑one patient relationships

Come help deliver infusion care where it matters most — and see what's possible when care comes first.
