GENERAL OVERVIEW:

SVP, Underwriting position is responsible for profitability and revenues of the billion dollars of stop loss business underwritten by or on behalf of HM Insurance Group. Major responsibilities include development and execution of the stop loss product line, pricing and underwriting strategies to achieve revenue and profitability target objectives set forth by HMIG and approved by its board of directors.

This multi-faceted position plays a key role in the corporate strategic planning, assessments and execution of business opportunities and strategic alliances, assessments of market conditions and their impact on the short and long term strategies for the corporation.

In addition to the financial responsibilities, the SVP, Underwriting is responsible for successful management of the multi-discipline and highly diversified Underwriting Department coupled with extensive management of any external partners performing underwriting functions on behalf of HM Insurance Group.

Responsibilities

  • Development, execution and monitoring of the product line pricing and underwriting strategies for all lines of business underwritten by and on behalf of HM Insurance Group.

  • Participating in development and execution of the corporate strategic initiatives. Development and maintenance of relationships with key external producers and vendors

Job Summary

We are seeking a Department of War (DoW) Business Development Director to lead the sales capture efforts. The ideal candidate should be accustomed to the DoW sales capture process, working in a fast-paced environment, and enjoys working on new space technologies.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement capture management strategies for U.S. Government (USG) programs
  • Generate Department of War (DoW) based pipeline through early shaping and acquisition strategy

Compensation

Annual Base Salary Range: $175,000 to $200,000 per year. Base pay is one part of our total compensation package (base + bonus + equity) and is determined within a range based on job-related knowledge and skills, education, and experience. CDM Smith is seeking a project management lead to join our Digital Engineering Solutions team. At CDM Smith, we’re proud of our culture of innovation as an AEC firm that positively impacts the environment built where we all live and work. The project management lead we’re seeking will be part of the firm’s digital transformation and will help define the long‑term digital product vision, value proposition, product strategy, and product roadmap. This role will help guide cross‑functional teams through the entire product lifecycle, including stakeholder engagement across our architecture, engineering, and construction (AEC) disciplines.

This position is for individuals who have demonstrated excellence as a project manager, ensuring projects are completed on time, within scope, and within budget while aligning with business objectives, and enjoy framing a problem, shaping & creating solutions, and helping to champion implementation of technology solutions. As a member of the Digital Engineering Solutions team, this individual will also engage in research and development and the incubation of innovative ideas that arise from around the company. This role is highly business‑facing, with a strong focus on coordinating stakeholders, organizing their input, and ensuring development teams clearly understand business needs and priorities.

  • Develop detailed project plans, schedules, and budgets, and manage changes to the project scope, schedule, and costs.
  • Identify potential risks throughout the project lifecycle, implement mitigation strategies, and proactively address issues.
  • Identify and handle project roadblocks, escalating issues when necessary, and find solutions to keep projects on track.
  • Monitor project quality throughout the delivery process to ensure that established standards and criteria are met.
  • Monitor the project budget, recognizing cost variations and taking necessary steps to keep within budgetary restrictions.
  • Ensure clear communication with leadership, clients, stakeholders, and internal development team teams to keep all parties updated on the project's progress and to resolve problems that may arise.
  • Manage cross‑functional project teams, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment.
  • Collaborate with the product lead and delivery manager to ensure project objectives are met.
  • Facilitate effective communication among project team members and stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Prepare and maintain comprehensive project documentation, including plans, KPI reports, and presentations.
  • Stay current with emerging technologies to meet industry demands.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 7 years of relevant experience.
  • Equivalent additional directly related experience will be considered in lieu of a college degree.

Domestic and/or international travel may be required. The frequency of travel is contingent on specific duties, responsibilities, and the essential functions of the position, which may vary depending on workload and project demands.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification from PMI preferred.
  • Bachelor's or master's degree in a field such as computer science, engineering, business, or a related discipline.

Skills and Abilities

  • Expertise in Project Management: Strong knowledge of best practices, methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, Scrum), and experience managing product and project life cycles.
  • Proven Leadership: Ability to take ownership, work independently, delegate tasks, motivate teams, and manage multiple initiatives concurrently.
  • Strategic Planning & Execution: Skilled in developing project strategies, timelines, budgets, and resource allocation plans; adept at risk identification and contingency planning.
  • Technical Proficiency: Experience in the AEC industry with familiarity in design/engineering applications, visualization, GIS, and data analytics; proficient in project management tools such as Microsoft Project.
  • Analytical & KPI Management: Competent in tracking performance through estimate vs. actual KPI boards to ensure projects meet deadlines and budgets.
  • Collaboration & Communication: Excellent interpersonal and presentation skills; capable of coordinating with multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders, facilitating meetings, and ensuring clear, strategic communication.
  • Adaptability & Continuous Learning: Willingness to adopt cutting‑edge technologies and enhance skills to remain competitive.

Overview

This position is responsible for direct sales of all Osmose services in the Telecommunications Market and coordinating sales efforts with Product Managers when team selling is required. Manage assigned customer base to increase sales, profits, market share and support brand image.

The ideal candidate will either be co-located with one of our large Telco accounts (Lumen, Brightspeed, Verizon, Metronet, AT&T) or near a major air-hub within the United States and have a working knowledge of the Telecommunications Companies within the US and Canada.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and drive your assigned accounts to reach and exceed the REV$ targets as assigned by Profit Center – i.e. Core and TS.
  • Drive the Telco accounts assigned to continuously increase Osmose wallet share of customer spend and to increase the number of service codes being sold into each Telco account.
  • Penetrate assigned Telco account’s outbound management and “make-ready” engineering space.
  • Track where their Telco accounts are planning to deploy fiber on IOU networks and send inbound leads to the responsible IOU DBD so they can be actioned appropriately.
  • Support Project Management teams in the effective and efficient execution of large Telco accounts, e.g., manage REV$ forecast with PM & OPS and ensure it’s accuracy in CRM.
  • Identify near-term Revenue opportunities through pull-in work across fiscal years or additional customer budget availability.
  • Understand fully – with PM & OPS – the annual customer budget allocated to Telco project work and work with the customer and Osmose teams to ensure the budget is secured and spend is maximized annually.
  • Initiate and conduct sales calls and presentations to established and prospective customers for relevant Osmose Telco services, and mentor others on the team to do the same.
  • Initiate and conduct sales calls and presentations to established and prospective customers for all Osmose services and products. Build relationships with contacts inside each utility at various levels, including senior executives.
  • Create sales plans and schedules that ensure market coverage with the appropriate contact frequency, based on business priorities and value.
  • Coordinate sales activity with General Managers-Operations as needed to maintain existing customer base and support sales calls to new customers.
  • Use customer and market intelligence to advise the Contracts team on proposal development and craft specific language when necessary. Submit price recommendations to Vice President-Business Development after gathering sufficient production and scheduling information from Operations.
  • Work closely with Operations to sync crew availability with project schedules and customer expectations.
  • Produce, in concert with the Vice President-Business Development, an annual sales forecast for assigned accounts and update the forecast regularly to maintain its accuracy.
  • Record and maintain customer and contact information for all accounts, utilizing the systems and processes provided or requested by the Company.
  • Develop and implement annual plans to improve personal professional performance and effectiveness. Participate in and contribute to company sales and product training initiatives. It is the direct responsibility of the Directors – Business Development to further their own training and self-development.
  • Contribute to other projects and plans, not specifically noted, necessary to minimize bureaucracy and redundant activities and to achieve the Company’s financial objectives.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree with related experience in sales and/or management (or an equivalent combination of education and experience); a background in the utility industry preferred.
  • Must possess leadership and self-motivational qualities.
  • Willingness to travel overnight and work varied hours, when necessary, to achieve desired results. Travel approximately 80%.
  • Must have a valid driver's license and clear driving history.
